  1. Hi all, I just graduated from the program, and I remember being in your shoes. Ask any questions you might have ?
  2. Hi! So, here are my personal pros and cons to CSUSM. What you decide will be up to what you value: Pros: High NCLEX pass rate, High graduation rate, High graduation GPA, opportunity for externship, cohort model (so you stay with the same people the whole program), $50k for the program (not including living expenses), 2 year program so you get done as quickly as an ADN but finish with a BSN Cons: Not knowing where your clinical site is till last minute (though I've heard it's similar with other programs), not too many opportunities for scholarships/financial aid besides loans, possible long commute due to your clinicals and labs possibly not being at the campus you are admitted for (for example, I'm at temecula campus but commute weekly to san marcos campus). To be honest, so far I like the program. And I don't know much about national to help you compare. It's very doable as long as you stay organized, study, and complete assignments on time.
  3. Hey ABSN 40, I'm in ABSN 39, and I'm not sure if you all have had your orientation yet, or joined the mentorship program with the SNA, but our cohort has some resources for you (professors, books, what to expect) in a Google doc. If yall have created a facebook group, let me know and I can post the link there for you all.
  4. Hey! I wanted to see how you were holding up now that the semester is coming to an end in a couple weeks. Is it still crazy? or have you felt like you've gotten a hang of it? How are you feeling?
  5. if you haven't yet, check your mycsusm portal. I saw my financial aid awards for the 21-22 school year already. Also, as far as Summer, we have to wait until we're enrolled to see what we get for Summer (per the financial aid office)
  6. good to know, thanks!
  7. Ahh OK, even initially? Your orientation was no more than a week prior to starting?
  8. For those of you that I assume have started, I'm one of the students that was accepted for Summer of 2021. I was wondering, how long before starting were you "enrolled" and given your schedule/financial aid/orientation? We're still months away but I was just curious when to expect it.
  9. Yes, I took a 200 level english course back at Purdue and it transferred as critical thinking.
  10. Hey! So none of us Summer 2021 folks have started yet, but I know it’s something like lecture class all on one day (usually Friday?) and then clinicals on other days (1-2 days a week I think).
  11. I believe it does (or you just have to resubmit it). You're only charged the application fee once a year so it should just roll over.
  12. Yea it should be within 24 hours or so of the portal saying you’re admitted
  13. Congratulations! Don't accept until you get the email LOL I accepted early and it never sent out my email
  14. I think I read somewhere if there's a tie then they just randomly pick who gets in? Hang in there! Hopefully you get a spot
  15. You will receive all other communication that the system sends as well as any manual emails we send to the cohort. The background and drug screen information will be sent out in a couple weeks. that’s what I got when I emailed my counselor so I think we should be good! She said I didn’t receive the initial email because I accepted before it could be sent out.
