Hi, Starting this for anyone applying to the FALL 2020 cohort at CSUSM. I think the deadline is March 11th. Good luck everyone!

I am a proud CSUSM alumni and I really want to attend their nursing program because I live so close and I can save money. But my pre-req GPA is a bit low (3.50) because I got a C in English. Im worried that they will not accept me for Spring 2021. I would be devastated but Im hopeful that I will land a spot. Im also hoping to retake my TEAS. Any study material that you guys recommend? Thanks!
I suggest getting the yellow book from Mometrix for the science, English, and math part of the TEAS. For the reading section, you can try Mcgraw Hill's book. You can also try searching for some tips on Youtube on how to pass the TEAS. The math section shouldn't be too hard, because some questions have the formula included in the test. You can also use an app called pocket prep to practice (just get the cheapest plan). Good luck.

I’m not sure, but I would think there is a chance since we are not starting until January. Prob still time for people to change their minds or go somewhere else.

People may still drop but since fall is just the Summer cohort pushed back there probably isn’t too many spots that would need to be filled if any. I’ve also noticed that when they add more to a cohort last minute, it is people with superrr high points.

According to the virtual info session this week they are still admitting for the Fall 2020 (now Spring 2021) cohort:)

They mentioned they would be sending out the next round the end of next week - possibly even this week. The next virtual info session is August 16 I think. But they definitely said they were still working on filling this cohort:)
Curious if most of you already live near SD or if any are planning on moving closer to school? I live in NorCal, and I’m thinking about moving sooner than January, just because my lease is up and I’d like to just already be there (and had planned on that when I applied for August/Fall). Any recommendations on areas to live? I know classes may not be all in person and clinical are all over SD etc. I really like Encinitas/Carlsbad , but it’s a bit pricey there. Any info is appreciated! ?

Vista, oceanside, Fallbrook, are all a little less pricey but decent areas and are near the school.

I am a SD native. You have good taste. Carlsbad is my most favorite area I have ever lived. Encinitas is awesome too. Both are great beach towns. They both come with a price.
Oceanside is a bit less expensive than Carlsbad and only a few miles away if you stay West of the 5 freeway. Feel free to private message me if you want info on the neighborhoods in SD and SD county. I have lived all over San Diego ?
Hi! I applied for the Spring 2021 term (the original) before it was closed due to COVID and the other cohorts being postponed. After speaking with an advisor I learned that my application is being considered with students who originally applied for the Fall 2020 term. I know some acceptance letters have been sent, but does anyone know what those being accepted right now are at, point wise? I was originally under the impression I had until the August 5th deadline before any acceptance letters would be sent out, so I’m just a little confused, as I’m sure a lot of us are!
Hey! I believe they already sent acceptances to those who applied originally for Fall ( but now it’s Spring). I applied for Fall In March with 39 points. Was accepted in June. But I saw in this thread they are still adding to the cohort. So since you applied for Spring that’s probably why they said you’d hear in August.
