CSUSB Fall 2016

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSUSB Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions about application deadlines, letters of recommendation, points, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

I don't know my complete stats yet since I haven't taken the TEAS. (I'm taking it December 17 aaaah.) So far I have 4.0 pre-req gpa, 4.0 overall gpa, 2 letters of rec., San Bernardino county residence, info session.... Just waiting to complete my TEAS. Anyone have any tips? :)

Thank you! Good luck to you as well! :) I will let you know how I do. Do you know what part of our score they take into account? Is it overall national percentile rank or....?

Seeing everyone's score I have a feeling it's the score percentage rather than the percentile rank. That's just a guess though.

Ok! Just knowing people get in the high 80s or 90s and that's the top 99th percentile for sure but the 90 score is what they share. -- is what makes me fairly certain it's our actual percentage. What are you using to study for the teas? I feel like there can never be enough! 😆

So on the CSUSB website it says, "Test credit is based on the adjusted individual total score” percentage results." So, I think you're right. Ugh I'm scared. I've just been using the ATI book, and I bought the McGraw Hill teas app. I didn't get the ATI online practice assessments and I'm kinda regretting it. What have you been using.

I've been using the ATI book, the Mcgraw Hill book that's 5 practice tests. I did do both ATI online practice tests. you still have time! i would do them or at least one before hand! It gives you a good idea on what exactly to expect. We can always take it again if we arent totally pleased with our scores. But, you have an awesome GPA so I'm confident you will do well! Anybody knows how many points out of 54 points people got accepted fall 2015?

I got a 90.7 on the teas! Good lord that was nerve wracking! I'm proud but may think about taking it again to get a higher score.

I called and asked some questions she was able to tell me average gpa last year is 3.8. Teas 80.1. She was unable to tell me average of the point because they don't disclose their method. But hope that helps!

Does anybody know how the letters of recommendation work? Like how long they have to be & what to give the person that will be writing it to make it easier on them?
