Hey everyone!

Well we made it mighty far and now we are done with pre reqs and on to applying!

I am applying to the 2012 cohort and would like to invite everyone else that is applying to post here for any questions, concerns or comments!

Well I am about to put in my application. So far I have all pre reqs done, pending algebra this winter intersession. My Teas test is done, my letters of rec are on their way and basically all I am waiting for is final transcripts!

Good luck to everyone who applied

Let the wait begin!

I was curious as to how the whole classes thing is gonna work. So do we just register for classes we would take for fall and if we do get in *crossing my fingers* we can just drop those classes and register for the nursing courses?

am: hey there! i register may 30th, maybe we could register for the same capstones? otherwise that sounds like a good idea :)

ind: i asked that orientation. they said that you need to register for classes to keep your spot at the school intact. so they said to register for part-time/full-time capstones and such. then if you get accepted then you just drop those classes and register for the nursing ones. are you a transfer? did you go to orientation yet?

Okay great! for my capstone, I'm thinking of signing up for a NSCI 325 which is Perspectives on Gender. July is around the corner, I hope we all get into the nursing program!

Is there multiple ones to register for or just one? oh nm i see.....TR 2-350

Yes I am going to register for that stats class at TR 4-550

I believe that over 6.1 units, that is fulltime.

Yes i hope july comes closer!

do you know if we receive emails or snail mail regarding acceptance/denial into the program? i believe its snail mail

Yes 6.1+ is fulltime. I'm trying to take at least 5 classes if I don't get into the nursing program this fall, just to get my GE's and capstones out of the way. Btw, I still can't reply to your PM for some reason! lol

I tried replying to your PM so let me know if you get it lol

5 classes is a lot but I don't work so I feel like i should just get them out of the way..and I really want to take a PE class, thinking of aerobics lol i need to get back in shape haha

According to the 2012-2014 College Catalog, page 57, this is how the status is broken down:

Student enrollment certification is based on the following minimum unit loads for undergraduate students:

Full time . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .12 weighted units

3/4 time . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9-11 units

1/2 time . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6-8.5 units

6.1 units would only be a 1/2 time student. An interesting note, however, you would have to pay the same tuition for 6.1 units as you would for 12+.

thanks mikey

weird.... they charge fulltime for over 6.1 units...

were you at orientation on the 19th? if so did you see the break down in points for the nursing dept. i am not talking about the gpa30 pts the TEAS 15pts etc... but the actual breakdown of ranges of points for your stats? the lady giving the powerpt presentation said there was a breakdown but it was either in the office or someone in the audience had it. i didn't stay to find out if she put it up (i was late for a baby shower lol) so i was wondering if you got a hold of it

I was at the orientation but I actually don't recall her mentioning the scale as you were describing it. I did go on a tour of the nursing building, but she didn't show us any such document. As far as your PE class, take a look at your PAWS report in your mycoyote. If all the classes under section E are good, you shouldn't need to any other PE classes.
