Hello, everyone! I am starting a new thread for this current year's applicants to the CSUN Accelerated B.S.N. program, for the Fall 2009 start.
I have not heard anything from the school, except that I did call to confirm that my file was complete.
Anyone else heard anything? Interviews scheduled? If you have any news to share, it would be appreciated by everyone.
Good luck to all applicants!
Thanks, SBalmost_there--you were right! I just called and they updated my major on April 3. So I was worrying needlessly.
Now if only they would send us the email with the details of what our schedule will be like. I wasn't expecting to be admitted to this program in the summer, so I'm going to have to take my finals early for my current classes. I just wish I had an idea of what to expect during the first two weeks.
I understand....I'm hoping we get the email with all the information soon. Hopefully by next week at the latest. They said we would receive the email within a few weeks when we got the call of acceptance. It's already been 3 weeks. There are a lot of decisions to be made, as well as just getting organized, more so with the Summer cohort because you guys start so soon.
i have a quick question -- i'm taking chem 51 at a local community college and i've heard that CSUN doesn't accept this as a pre-req to the accelerated nursing program? i tried emailing them to verify but they directed me to assist.org to check (and it does say it transfers). i just want to make sure. can anyone please let me know if chem 51 is in fact accepted or if i need to take chem 60 instead?
Chem 51 might be different from school to school. If assist.org says it's equivalent to whatever class they're asking for, it should be fine. I took Chem 51 at ELAC and they accepted that. I know that CSULB requires Chem 70 in addition to Chem 51 if it was taken at LATTC, whereas Chem 51 from the other LA Colleges is fine. That seems lame that they didn't check for you. If assist.org says it's equivalent and as long as it covers Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry, you should be fine.
Go to an info session--they'll answer your questions there.
i'm taking chem 51 at pierce right now, and it seems to have the same course title as the chem 51 class at ELAC... so i'm hoping it should be ok now.
i did check for the info sessions -- but they have none scheduled for the fall yet and i need to register for classes.
thanks for the response!
Hi am a student at CSUN and am currently trying to finish my G.E's in order to get into pierce to get my RN. Have any of you gone through this experience? O and I wanted to tell you guys that I spoke with an advisor at csun regarding how competitive it is to get in the A-BSN program at CSUN and they told me that they only accept 33 people. My question is, what should I do if i dont get in?

Levoila: I just spoke to someone in admissions and she said that my major has been updated in the system, however, we are not able to access it because when we applied, we applied as "pre-nursing" so that will remain on our "application status". But she said that it does show on her screen that I was a 2nd Bachelor's student in the A-BSN program. You can call admissions at 818-677-3700 and press "5" to get to the actual admissions dept. and just ask that they look up your status. It should be changed for you by now.
