  1. I love this thread! I am also a New Grad RN and will start on the Neuro Unit next week at a certified stroke center and teaching hospital! I am SOOO excited to learn more and really apply what I have learned. I am taking all the advice that was given to Hands & Feet and have a review session before next week comes. Thanks again for all the helpful advice!!!
  2. No....those who are invited for an interview ARE the potential candidates for the program. You have to be invited for an interview an order to be one of the 18 chosen for Summer and Fall.
  3. I believe the deadline is the day of orientation. Not too sure. I was able to do the HIPPA online and received the completion certificate in the mail. However, the BBP was difficult to download. I am going to be on campus on the 6th and will do the BBP class online there on one of CSUN's computers.
  4. I am in CSUN's cohort 5. Are you too?
  5. As far as I know I never received a deadline, however, I already declined the offer. Good luck to you!
  6. I believe all the accelerated BSN programs (atleast in the state of CA) are competitive. The better the GPA, the better your chances. LLU has a minimum 3.3 GPA requirement in undergrad coursework. I had a 3.7 overall with a 4.0 in my core sciences. Make yourself as competitive as you can academically and even socially (volunteering, tutoring, etc).
  7. I received my letter of acceptance too! However, there will be a space open....I have decided on CSUN's program. Good luck to you all at LLU!!!!!
  8. I had my interview the day after Easter and they said they would send out letters by the third week of May...so they should be out sometime this week.
  9. ptomgirl: Did you have an interview with LLU?
  10. It is definitely competitive. They only select 18 students out of hundreds of applications for each of the two cohorts. I had a 4.0 in my core sciences and a 3.7 overall plus lots of extra cirricular stuff. They did not make you take the TEAS test like LLU or some of the other schools.
  11. Hi ptomgirl! I had my interview about 2 weeks ago or so. They should be getting back to us by the 2nd week of May with acceptance (or denial) letters. I have already been admitted to CSUN and have already accepted the offer of going to school there instead. I REALLY liked LLU and the values they instill in the Nursing program...however, I thought the program was going to be a lot quicker than 27 months. That was a real disappointment for me and was the deal breaker. I can get my 2nd Bachelors degree at CSUN in 15 months and half the cost. Good luck to you!!! Let me know what you hear. Did you have an interview as well with LLU?
  12. Levina: I am so so sad...I had my interview with LLU earlier this week. It went really well and just enjoyed hearing about the whole program. However, I had NO idea the program was just over 2 years long. I thought it would be much quicker than that, but realized LLU takes summer break. So, LLU is definately much more expensive due to the 7 quarter system. CSUN's A-BSN program is only 15 months (4 semesters) and will be significantly less expensive. LLU would had been my first choice had the program been a little more accelerated....Good luck to you!!
  13. I understand....I'm hoping we get the email with all the information soon. Hopefully by next week at the latest. They said we would receive the email within a few weeks when we got the call of acceptance. It's already been 3 weeks. There are a lot of decisions to be made, as well as just getting organized, more so with the Summer cohort because you guys start so soon.
  14. Levoila: I just spoke to someone in admissions and she said that my major has been updated in the system, however, we are not able to access it because when we applied, we applied as "pre-nursing" so that will remain on our "application status". But she said that it does show on her screen that I was a 2nd Bachelor's student in the A-BSN program. You can call admissions at 818-677-3700 and press "5" to get to the actual admissions dept. and just ask that they look up your status. It should be changed for you by now.
