CSUN Accelerated B.S.N. Fall 2009 Applicants

Published

Hello, everyone! I am starting a new thread for this current year's applicants to the CSUN Accelerated B.S.N. program, for the Fall 2009 start.

I have not heard anything from the school, except that I did call to confirm that my file was complete.

Anyone else heard anything? Interviews scheduled? If you have any news to share, it would be appreciated by everyone.

Good luck to all applicants!

Wow, you CSUN folks make the competition hard! But you know what, its worth it. I can't wait til they have an information session so I can ask them all my questions regarding my classes. This message board keeps me going!

I got accepted into the Fall 2009 cohort #5 at CSUN. I'm so thrilled. It's too bad they want us to respond by april 6th when we still haven't heard back yet from all the other programs. Are both of you going to accept?

I did accept although I am still waiting to hear from one other school, which likely won't be until later this month

sbalmost there: did you just mail the change of major form to admissions?

I sent it back in the envelope they provided. It was already self-addressed. I am not sure who it was going to...I'm sure it was the Health Science Dept and once they receive it than they would forward it to admissions

gspoon: congrats! are you going to accept? What other schools are waiting to hear from?

but the letter says not to send it in the same envelope.

Thanks for responding! I also applied to a few other Accelerated BSN programs, unfortunately there aren't too many in SoCal. At first I was set on getting my MSN but then realized I didn't want to become a clinical nurse specialist. CSUF program allowed you to roll into getting you NP in womens health but that would take 4 years. I can't afford to not work that long, plus think it would be smarter to get experience before choosing a specialty. Is CSUN not your first choice? How come? I dont know too much about the program. It was not my first choice originally because I live in orange county and thought I would prefer to stay here, but I was really impressed by the three women in my interview (even though it was all of 10 minutes long) Anyway I would love to hear your input.

Oh no! I just saw that. Well....they are receiving it with the statement of intent.

Now that I am reading the letter, it says to deliver that form to Admissions & Records. So yes Levoila, I would send it there.

SBalmost there- I got into U of Colorado at Denver and am waiting to hear from Concordia and MSM. If I was lucky enough to get into concordia I will have some pondering to do. MSM and U of Colorado are both amazing schools but much more expensive

I was asking because I wasn't sure if I should mail it to admissions or just drive out there to drop it off since it says "deliver it to" rather than "mail it to".
