Hello everyone!
I couldn't find a forum for this year's pre-nursing students that are applying to CSULB so I made one myself! Anyway, I know I'm not the only one who wants to compare scores or see if their scores are competitive, so here it is...
I'll start it off...
GPA (SCIENCE) : 3.7 = 3.7 pts
GPA (GE) : 4.0 = 2 pts
TEAS OVERALL : 87% = 1.74
TEAS READING : 86% = 1.72
TOTAL POINTS = 9.16 pts
Im planning to retake the TEAS for the THIRD TIME and try to get 90%+ on both, and yes, Chemistry messed me up, ifykyk.
Sorry if my english/grammar is trash, its my lowest score on the TEAS ^_^
DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED.. DO NOT LOSE HOPE!! WE ALL GOT THIS ❤️

From the last forum, I've seen people getting in Spring with an overall score of 9.35+, hopefully this Spring its equivalent to that. I believe if you have a score of 9.5+ you are very likely to get in.
That’s great news! Congratulations on your scores! Here’s mine:
(TEAS reading *0.02) + (TEAS overall*0.02) + (ge GPA/2) + science GPA
ge GPA: 3.952 or 4.0 (depends if they count sociology) = 1.976 or 2 pts
science GPA: 4.0 = 4 pts
TEAS overall: 94.0 = 1.88 pts
TEAS reading: 97.9 = 1.958 pts
total: 9.814 or 9.838 pts
good luck to everyone! ☺️

Reading: I struggled. Used Carolyn McAllister on Youtube. I also used the Youtube playlist I posted above. I used the 5 TEAS practice tests book and I think practicing really helped. Also loved the nurse hub practice tests for reading and English.
Math: I really only needed review so I only used Brandon craft’s Youtube videos which really helped me with some topics I struggled with (percents). But if you need further help I do know you can purchase practice problems from his website. I also know another YouTuber called Jakarta Lewis who also has math videos and practice problems for sale.
Science: also my strong suit since I had just taken anatomy and physiology. if you really need in-depth help try science with Susana (https://www.sciencewithsusanna.com). I also loved the smart edition book and videos
I loved the videos for Chemistry and biology. I’m pretty sure it also comes with practice tests, although personally I think the questions for science are simple compared to the TEAS, it’s good to see if you understand the information.
I also highly recommend the B and C ATI practice tests ($80) which comes with a full anatomy and physiology practice test (it’s a little harder than the real test but I think it prepares you for the format and the test)
I also watched crash course anatomy and physiology on Youtube and I loved it. It also has a crash course app which comes with practice questions. Science with Susana also has quizlets and practice problems.
English: also really struggled. I loved Carolyn McAllister on Youtube. Also this file from a facebook study group (https://lookaside.fbsbx.com/file/ENGLISH%20SECTION%20%28TEAS%29%20Elizabeth%20Tran.pdf?token=AWzD1oQ5IVQbbCVU2rZVJ4zqJl1O4FPq9NQLosfxIWe7JVLHqTg_TeBSAZc0Grr5a5yE-cJoyYygjPtJdPPADeiTg60lHW6h6K4qNvG17KSNQai5RtZflPu0OgaU1THJSpQHxYwrXVOuV_-Mwu1IKYCJlX49Qpg553GLBBbDXjqbVnMBdg75iRD2VOdduXirH7hDzOQHj9tdykaW0Uajw0zm). The smart edition book and videos were great. Also the grammar book website (link should be below)

Im so glad to hear that it helped you! I hope it helps many more. What also helped me was jointing facebook groups to look for resources, tips, and books. It took me three tries to get the score I wanted but it was worth it! So don’t give up and don’t be afraid to ask for help, I’d be more than happy to do so! I wish everyone the best of luck and hopefully I’ll see you all next semester as classmates! ?

Another question! - In the CalState Apply "Program Materials" section, where you list the science classes you've taken (with the semester and grade received), do you list the class number as they were in the college you're transferring from? Or do I need to find the CSULB equivalency for them and list it that way? Hope this makes sense.

I took at more general chem because I wants pre nursing so I couldn’t take chem 140 at Csulb. So I took chem 65 at a community college which is more general. I used a table listed on the Csulb nursing website to determine equivalency but I also spoke to a CHHS advisor at CSUlB who said it was okay. So I would suggest you do the same. Here’s the table: https://www.csulb.edu/sites/default/files/groups/school-of-nursing/nursing_-_prerequisite_course_equivalencies.xlsx
Also in their website https://www.csulb.edu/college-of-health-human-services/school-of-nursing/undergraduate-BSN-faq-and-application under prerequisites I found this regarding the chem course
