CSULB Spring 2022

Published

Hello everyone!

I couldn't find a forum for this year's pre-nursing students that are applying to CSULB so I made one myself! Anyway, I know I'm not the only one who wants to compare scores or see if their scores are competitive, so here it is...

I'll start it off...

GPA (SCIENCE) : 3.7 = 3.7 pts

GPA (GE) : 4.0 = 2 pts

TEAS OVERALL : 87% = 1.74

TEAS READING : 86% = 1.72

TOTAL POINTS = 9.16 pts

Im planning to retake the TEAS for the THIRD TIME and try to get 90%+ on both, and yes, Chemistry messed me up, ifykyk.

Sorry if my english/grammar is trash, its my lowest score on the TEAS ^_^

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED.. DO NOT LOSE HOPE!! WE ALL GOT THIS ❤️

Does anyone know how long the hours for clinicals are and if you can choose day shift or night shift?

Hi, I’m a current nursing student here. Clinicals are usually 8-9 hours. During COVID times I did 10-12 hrs. It just depends on the instructor and where you get placed ? also no, you cant choose day or night. Most of the time it’s gonna be days.

What are the support courses for? Is that part of the nursing curriculum? So if I've taken sociology I don't have to take it during the program?

nope, but see you all this Saturday, there still is hope that people will decline their admission and that most waitlists hear after orientation, still very optimistic.

Hey what is your stats if you don’t mind sharing? I just want to see if I am close on the waitlist.

Can any current students tell me if the Elsevier package is worth it? I can get books for cheaper elsewhere, but I was wondering if anyone uses any of the other things the package offers (like the study tools and resources). Does it help a ton?

I am going to ask the value of tuition versus the cost of books/Elsevier package? Why skip out on paying for the resources you need?

I don't know if it will "help a ton" but it can help you understand the textbook. Study tools always have value.

Is anyone else really anxious to know if they got their pick for semester or trimester??

100% what is everyone hoping for, trimester or semester?

Hoping for trimester, hbu? I guess it's not the worst to be moved to semester but I feel like it's messed up to force someone into trimester if they don't want to be accelerated HAHA

Im hoping for trimester too, but I also know it’s gonna be really intense. I also don’t think I would be able to work if I got trimester. So I agree it sucks if you were forced into trimester because of extra cost and accelerated pace
