CSULB Spring 2022

Published

Hello everyone!

I couldn't find a forum for this year's pre-nursing students that are applying to CSULB so I made one myself! Anyway, I know I'm not the only one who wants to compare scores or see if their scores are competitive, so here it is...

I'll start it off...

GPA (SCIENCE) : 3.7 = 3.7 pts

GPA (GE) : 4.0 = 2 pts

TEAS OVERALL : 87% = 1.74

TEAS READING : 86% = 1.72

TOTAL POINTS = 9.16 pts

Im planning to retake the TEAS for the THIRD TIME and try to get 90%+ on both, and yes, Chemistry messed me up, ifykyk.

Sorry if my english/grammar is trash, its my lowest score on the TEAS ^_^

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED.. DO NOT LOSE HOPE!! WE ALL GOT THIS ❤️

if any pre-nursing students get an email please share LOL the anxiety is driving me crazy

me too OMG haha! according to previous forums, seems like son sends out the official emails a bit delayed

do u guys know if applicants who passed the communication exercise can still get rejected? wondering how many they'll allow for space purposes

Considering how they invited about ~120 qualified applicants for the exercise and only admit from between 60-80 (based on their past statistics), yes, people can still get rejected.

To my understanding, passing the communication exercise gives you 2 points. Afterward, whoever has the highest points are given admission. For example, my impaction score was 9.65 so assuming I passed the exercise, my score became 11.95. (I saw someone say this on a past thread).

If it will help anyone, I am a 2nd bachelor's applicant and was accepted according to the self-service.

what are the points out of?

If you have perfect scores then it should be 10 and 12 after the communication exercise

from past forums I've seen people with higher impaction scores get rejected than people with lower ones which confuses me...I guess we'll see

Hello, LOL sorry, even though I created the forum you guys are carrying it.

I know some people who got into Spring 2021 with a 9.31 and 9.34, one of them got a C in Chemistry, got waitlisted, but got accepted later on.

I believe us pre-nursing students will receive an update email around this week or next week! It's been more than 2 weeks since the comms exercise.

Spring 2022 is weird, oddly weird, I don't know how to explain it, but weird weird, someone got in with a 9.24? Someone with a 9.41 got rejected? Regardless, I'm rooting that everyone who is waiting will get accepted, very optimistic for us all. Personally, I have a 9.45, I think 9.3+ is still the range for waitlist/borderline for acceptances, but again, anything can happen this semester.

Again, thanks y'all for carrying the forum, keep the updates coming!

hmmm very interesting ? perhaps it was the content of their interview question answer? thats the only other thing I could think of that would explain these inconsistencies haha

I had 9.47 and I didn’t even get invited to the communications exercise. :(

@Pvato13WHAT?? That's ridiculous!! When there are 900+ applicants I'd imagine it would be extremely competitive but it makes me so frustrated when ppl with lower scores get invited and ppl with higher score don't. It seems like there is no method to the madness sometimes. Admissions, no matter the school or program, has always felt like there's a randomness factor to it

I noticed that too it seems like they used different criteria for admissions this semester
