CSULB Spring 2022

Published

Hello everyone!

I couldn't find a forum for this year's pre-nursing students that are applying to CSULB so I made one myself! Anyway, I know I'm not the only one who wants to compare scores or see if their scores are competitive, so here it is...

I'll start it off...

GPA (SCIENCE) : 3.7 = 3.7 pts

GPA (GE) : 4.0 = 2 pts

TEAS OVERALL : 87% = 1.74

TEAS READING : 86% = 1.72

TOTAL POINTS = 9.16 pts

Im planning to retake the TEAS for the THIRD TIME and try to get 90%+ on both, and yes, Chemistry messed me up, ifykyk.

Sorry if my english/grammar is trash, its my lowest score on the TEAS ^_^

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED.. DO NOT LOSE HOPE!! WE ALL GOT THIS ❤️

@Pvato13WHAT?? That's ridiculous!! When there are 900+ applicants I'd imagine it would be extremely competitive but it makes me so frustrated when ppl with lower scores get invited and ppl with higher score don't. It seems like there is no method to the madness sometimes. Admissions, no matter the school or program, has always felt like there's a randomness factor to it

I know. Feeling really defeated. I didn’t get into East bay either, even though people with 3.6 gpas and 80% TEAS scores did. My stats were 3.89 GPA and 90.1 TEAS score and 2000+ hours volunteer hours. I literally don’t understand. It really sucks when you work so hard and people with lower stats get in. I think there’s a lottery aspect to it.

for those who got accepted/waitlisted...are you guys going to send over your transcripts right now? or until they email you?

I feel you...I got dicked by east bay and fresno bc I had better stats than some others who got accepted but I guess it's well known that east bay gives a lot of priority to supplemental criteria. You have amazing stats, really sorry to hear about that. I'd recommend applying to san marcos and stanislaus, you'd definitely get in.

Hello, LOL sorry, even though I created the forum you guys are carrying it.

I know some people who got into Spring 2021 with a 9.31 and 9.34, one of them got a C in Chemistry, got waitlisted, but got accepted later on.

I believe us pre-nursing students will receive an update email around this week or next week! It's been more than 2 weeks since the comms exercise.

Spring 2022 is weird, oddly weird, I don't know how to explain it, but weird weird, someone got in with a 9.24? Someone with a 9.41 got rejected? Regardless, I'm rooting that everyone who is waiting will get accepted, very optimistic for us all. Personally, I have a 9.45, I think 9.3+ is still the range for waitlist/borderline for acceptances, but again, anything can happen this semester.

Again, thanks y'all for carrying the forum, keep the updates coming!

As far as I know, CSULB is still solely based on the stats/points and they don't consider any volunteer/work experience.  @Louiszgowas offered admission with a 9.24 but he/she had military points added (Based on the info he/she shared in other threads that I happened to see). So you know ?

Good luck to everyone who's still waiting for a decision from CSULB!

any transfers planning on accepting other schools?

Congratulations to those who were accepted to Long Beach and East Bay. I was rejected by Long Beach and got in to waitlist for East bay, with a 4 GPA and a 93% TEAS score. ( I had my Chemistry in progress ) I had 400 hours of volunteer in health and community service as well as I'm bilingual. I didn't even give a chance for communication exercise!!

Anyway, I don't understand! It's really diaspointng...

Did you have your Chemistry course in progress when you applied to CSULB? If so it would have been counted against you for scoring.

Good luck with East Bay! You have awesome stats! ?

Did you try applying to private colleges? Honestly…..I was waitlisted last application round and so I made the decision to apply to private and state schools. (Rejected at EB and LB, waiting for SF and Chico nursing department ( currently admitted with alternate major).

I’m currently waiting from Dominican University but got into Samuel Merritt. (They take a more holistic approach when reviewing applications).

you’ll get into a nursing program it’s just a matter of time! You have realllllly good stats!! I think you’ll get in somewhere!

Yes, I have Chemistry for this semester. Probably this one counted against me for scoring.

No, I didn't apply for any private schools. I applied for Chico, Stanislaus, Sacramento, and SFSU. (Yes, same I got admitted with biology major as an alternative for SFSU and Sacramento), but waiting for a nursing decision.

Congrats on Samuel Merritt!  it's a great school.
