CSULB Spring 2022

Published

Hello everyone!

I couldn't find a forum for this year's pre-nursing students that are applying to CSULB so I made one myself! Anyway, I know I'm not the only one who wants to compare scores or see if their scores are competitive, so here it is...

I'll start it off...

GPA (SCIENCE) : 3.7 = 3.7 pts

GPA (GE) : 4.0 = 2 pts

TEAS OVERALL : 87% = 1.74

TEAS READING : 86% = 1.72

TOTAL POINTS = 9.16 pts

Im planning to retake the TEAS for the THIRD TIME and try to get 90%+ on both, and yes, Chemistry messed me up, ifykyk.

Sorry if my english/grammar is trash, its my lowest score on the TEAS ^_^

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED.. DO NOT LOSE HOPE!! WE ALL GOT THIS ❤️

Hi guys, I'm struggling in deciding which TEAS attempt score to send in. I'm having trouble figuring out how strictly they count the Reading portion of the TEAS. I'm in a situation where in my first attempt, I have a high reading score, and an overall score that I would consider okay but not competitive. In my second attempt, my score for all sections other than Reading went up *increasingly* but somehow I scored very low in Reading. My overall score in my second attempt is good but the reading is super low. It's upsetting since I scored so high in math and science the second time though. What do you think I should do?

I don't know if the point system is still accurate but in the past the composite score and the reading score held the same weight. id take the average of your composite/reading score for both attempts and submit whichever is higher.

I forgot where I read it (I think their website) but if you submit 2 TEAS score then they’ll take the one with the higher total score.

Hello guys,

I tried emailing the Nursing Department as to how many times we can apply to the program. So far, I haven't gotten any response from them. By any chance, do you guys know how many times we can apply to the program? Because I've noticed on their website saying, "Applicants may apply a total of two times."

Thank you!

uhm, well if the nursing website says you can apply a total of two times, then I’m assuming it’s two times…?

Do any of you guys know how to calculate quarter GPA to semester GPA? I asked one of the counselors for help and all she did was send me a PPT but it doesn’t tell me how to convert them ?

Hi all, I retook my TEAS and my score is 9.46 now, I hope it's good enough to become future classmates with you all.

@stormii sorry I'm not sure! Have you tried emailing the department? I found this on Google:

  • To convert semester hours to quarter hours, multiply each semester hour by 1.5.
  • To convert quarter hours to semester hours, multiply each quarter hour by 0.67.

I spoke with a counselor from CSULB, and she sent me a PPT but it didn't tell me how to convert my quarter to semester GPA ? but ty! I'll just use that and hope that it's correct

for those who have done the nursing application, did you guys only get this email after you were done:499174518_ScreenShot2021-09-21at1_02_10PM.thumb.png.309165c79373f6bcd12a66d2275ece53.png

Nope, I got that email. At the end of the application they allowed you to download your responses

@stormii I got the same email but I saved the PDF of my responses at the end.
