Nursing Students School Programs

Hello everyone,

Hopefully, this forum is found by people that are applying to CSULB for Spring 2021. We can share stats, updates, questions, and any other information related to the nursing program. I hope to talk to you all soon!

For the supplemental application coursework input, it asks for the number of credits for Anatomy lecture/lab. I took the separate quarters of Anatomy/Physio (Bio40A/B/C). They are 5 quarter units each.

Should I put 5 units? Or 15 units?

I have that question too now! I took two 5 unit chem classes to satisfy their chem requirement so I am wondering if I would need to write 10 units?.. Unless they just want us to write one class.

I just filled out the Nursing application and hopefully my experience will help out any questions.

The Nursing app did have a place to indicate whether you're a transfer, a CSULB student or an 2nd degree applicant.

The Nursing application did let you put in multiple courses for Micro, Chem and Anatomy/Physiology if you have more than 1 course to enter in and it lets you distinguish semester units vs quarter units.

The Nursing application I felt was easy to fill out very organized in how you put in the information, but I felt the supplemental was a little vague in what they wanted.

Hi everyone,

I have few questions I want to ask. I applied for Spring 2021 and both my GPA and TEAS are pretty low.

1. I took Gen Chem I up to Gen Organic Chem II (4 courses), I got a B for Gen Chem I and A's for the others. How will they calculate my science GPA?
2. I calculated the admission point and I think I only get 8.95 to 9.05. Is it too low?

I am also a second degree applicant! Today I received an email stating, "I am writing to inform you that we have forwarded your application to the graduate department of your intended major for a final review. Departments generally review applications after the program application deadline and make decisions within 4 to 6 weeks after the deadline date."

Does anybody know if second degree seekers also have to submit the supplemental application and participate in the communication exercise?

Hey there! I am also a second degree applicant. I submitted my application a few weeks ago but haven't gotten an email. ? Did you receive that email after all your transcripts were sent in?

Hey guys, does anyone know if the lottery for trimester/semester happens before or after you accept your nursing BSN offer? I know you have to be accepted and attend the orientation for the lottery, but is the mandatory orientation only for those who have accepted their offer or those who've been accepted? I'm not sure if I want to accept an offer until I know how long my program will be.

@jngyn6 I just got the same email the other day.  I think it takes them a few days to process transcripts.  If you still haven't gotten yours, maybe request an application status update to see if they're missing anything.

@hansbuchan I think it happens after you accept.  I seem to recall that they do their best to accommodate students' needs, though, if that's any consolation.

Yes, you need to accept the admission offer to attend orientation. You will choose whether you want to be in either the trimester/semester programs at orientation, and you will know which program you are in on the same day. There are usually more trimester spots than semester spots.

Is there a way to verify that TEAS scores were sent successfully?

@sojuwu, I didn't get anything from the school but I got an email from the ATI website saying they were sent successfully. I hope the school gets it but I'm not sure.

Hey guys,

after you submitted the Supplemental Application, is a specific nursing application following?

I submitted the supplemental one just Yesterday.

Moreover, what do you think will be the average of points getting in? I bombed my TEAS and only got a 9.12 ?

Thanks for your help!

Hi! On my TEAS score report/transcript it says ADN for the program type because I currently go to a community college. Does anybody know if this matters? Or should I contact ATI and get it changed to BSN?
