Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start this thread to compare our stats since the deadline to send in the supplemental application is approaching soon. CSULB's program is definitely competitive and I hope I have a chance to get in with my scores!

My stats:

4.0 GE GPA

4.0 Science GPA

92.7% Composite TEAS score

82.1% Reading TEAS score

Best of luck to everyone applying!! We got this!

Hi Congrats to those who got off the waitlist!

I got off the waitlist as well.

I was told by the program director via email. Did anyone of you who got off the waitlist get an acceptance letter yet? Do we have to wait and see till the orientation day??

Hi everyone,

I just got off the wait list as well !

For GWAR test, the next testing schedule is not until September. So what if I don't get above 11 for GWAR. What will happen next ? Am I still allowed to take GERN 400 in the 2nd semester ? Thank you ?

Hey guys! I'll be applying for Spring 2024. I wanted to know what your guys' impact score was and whether you got in instantly or had to be on the waitlist first. Trying to know what I should expect at what impact score.

So far I have a 4.0 Sci and GE. Just need to take the TEAS.

I just got accepted yesterday! (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) called me. I missed orientation since I got accepted late and I have no idea what's going on LOL, is there a group page that the Fall 2023 cohort is communicating on?

Hey there! If you don't pass the GWAR I think they told us you have to take a writing assistance course to help you develop your writing skills.

Hello! I'm from the Spring 2023 cohort and Spring is way easier to get into than fall! (Less competition) I had a 9.7 impaction score but I think the threshold was 9.3. Your GPA is solid and I recommend taking the TEAS twice (have to wait a month in between tests though). You'll most likely get the same test and it's easier to score higher if you can remember what you struggled with on the first one. Also you can pull your report on the ATI site and look at the areas you scored lower in. I think I went from like an 87 or 88 to a 92.7 overall and boosted my reading from a like a 94 to a 97.4. Also if you're a veteran you get a tenth of a point towards your GPA and local preference. I recommend checking out the Spring 2023 thread to get a better idea if the kind of scores that were accepted! Lmk if you have any questions ?

Thank you! I already plan to take it twice. What do you recommend using to study?

I didn't study much. I just reviewed some videos on YouTube the morning of. I recommend Carolyn McAllister for English and Language usage! She explains things really well. Honestly, the TEAS is nothing to worry about! I would study if you struggle in certain areas but nothing to get stressed over. For science, I remember there was some chem, some basic micro, and mostly reproductive, hormones, and digestive- but it might have changed though!

@Mrod3434 is it a requirement to take your upper division GE first semester or is it just before graduation

Technically you just need it by graduation but I recommend taking it first semester. Second semester is packed, third and fourth semester are going to have classes that will take up a lot of your time and energy from what I've heard, and fifth semester you'll be working the same shift as the nurse that's precepting you along with a NCLEX prep. I took CWL-415 with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and it was pretty easy! She's very lenient-especially with nursing students.

Yeah I might just have to find something online and easy. We're doing pharmacology and patho first semester. And I just found out I have to take a organic chem because the one I took wasn't good enough and maybe a history class? and now I am stressed on when I'm gonna squeeze it in

I'm in pharm right now (second semester). Are you sure they have you doing it first semester? Usually first is just foundations and patho. If you took patho already then they move pharm to first semester. I have to take a history class too but I'm going to either see if I can do it in the Winter or at a CC.
