Hi everyone,
Just wanted to start a thread for anyone who applied for CSULB for Fall 2020. What specialty did you all apply to, your experience, and stats? Any previous applicants that can shed some light on why they might have gotten accepted/didn't get accepted? Spoke to the graduate admissions coordinator who mentioned that they will be contacting selected applicants in late February to early March for interviews and writing assessment and decisions will be made in April. Good luck to you all! ?
You're not the only one. Last week I recieved and email that my financial aid package was available and then was able to log into csulb where I had the option of accepting an admission offer. However, I have yet to receive any emails from the SON. I'm not stressing, but it would be nice to know.

I received from SOB that I have to email them to accept admission for MSN.
I am going to study FNP too. Hope to see you at school this fall.
Hello Everyone! I was also accepted into the FNP program. I emailed PF on April 19th regarding further information, and she said that she’ll be sending an email to address your acceptance letter to the school’s offer, orientation, and class schedule at a later date as the information becomes available.
Hey Everyone I’m planning to apply for the csulb phnp program how was it ? What’s your stats If you don’t mind me asking been a psych RN for 5 years and planning to go back ? Taking board certification exam next month as well. For my BSN I went to online school please share tips !!
is it difficult to get accepted?
I was accepted to PNP, so I can’t speak specifically to the psych one- but I did my group interview with a bunch of the psych nurses. They said they were looking for 3 things-
1- the GPA/ numbers/ academic history.
2- the letter of recommendation for psych specifically. You needed someone -in the psych realm If that’s your history- that says they trust your judgement and would recommend you for the rigors of the course.
3- your history in that field, and personal goal/ what you plan to do with that degree in that field. They also stressed that ed experience alone did not count as psych experience.
hope that helps
