Nursing Students NP Students

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to start a thread for anyone who applied for CSULB for Fall 2020. What specialty did you all apply to, your experience, and stats? Any previous applicants that can shed some light on why they might have gotten accepted/didn't get accepted? Spoke to the graduate admissions coordinator who mentioned that they will be contacting selected applicants in late February to early March for interviews and writing assessment and decisions will be made in April. Good luck to you all! ?

Hello,

I also applied. FNP. Wanting some input from current or past students about the short essay and panel interview.

Thank you!

Hey!

I also applied, and am interested in the same info. I don't have super great stats, but have pretty decent non nursing experience, so we will see what happens. I applied to the ACNP program.

BSN GPA was around 3.6. Have not done any advanced certs. Working Level 1 Trauma ICU x 3 years. I also have my MPH and previously worked as Registered Dietitian in critical care before this. Hoping these things will save me considering I don't have advanced certs or testing. Good Luck to all.

I received an email today stating they have received my application and will be inviting applicants for an interview and essay by March

Same, I received that email as well!

My stats aren't that great either. I applied for the ACNP. Undergrad had about a 3.2 GPA. I have about 2 years experience in SICU/Trauma ICU. Have my CCRN, NIHSS Stroke cert, and Public health cert. Hoping all these things will save me ?

Has anyone heard from LB regarding interviews yet?

Hello!

Glad to have found this little thread because I was wondering similar thoughts.

I applied for the ACNP program. I have 4 years in a mixed unit ICU. My GPA for BSN is 3.6. As far as certifications go, I have TCAR, ENLS, and NIHSS. I am hoping to get my CCRN by mid May *cross my fingers*

Seems like most of us will be interviewing and doing our writing assessments this week... Good luck to all of us!!

For the FNP.

How did the interview go, any specific questions that stood out, was it a group interview, panel interview?

What was the essay question and how much time was allotted?
