CSULB Fall 2014

Published

Hey everyone!

Did anyone else apply to CSULB for Fall 2014? The school app was due last Saturday, and then we have the month of January to submit for the School of Nursing.

Based on previous threads, it looks like we are invited to an interview about a month after the deadline, and the cutoff was ~9.1 points.

Here are my stats so we can see how we stand this year!

Science GPA: 3.58

GE GPA: 3.77

TEAS: 97.3

TEAS Math: 100

I think that works out to about 9.4 points... the average keeps rising each year, so it would be nice to see where we all fall!

Good luck everyone :)

I also received an email for an interview last night 3/6 around 7:30pm. I thought I barely made the cut off because of how last minute the interview time was, but I guess they just sent out notices late. The interview is next Wednesday 3/12 sometime between 9-4pm. I am also from the Bay Area and this was so last minute for me, I need to get work off. Definitely wish they gave us at least 2 weeks notice :/ but it is what it is. For those looking for plane tickets, the cheapest I found were from Oakland--> Long Beach $139 per way, $278 round trip. SW is ridiculous right now, I think it's ~$200 for one way from SJC to LB.

If anyone is getting into LB Airport around 10:30am next Wednesday, let me know and we can split the cab and get lost together.

Screw the 'c' default grade!! I have a 4.0 gpa, got a 91 on my teas, and have been a medic for 2 years...

My score would be a 9.6, but because i have Micro in progress, i went down to 9.1.

That is crap... I have worked on people having heart attacks and strokes, I have a 4.0 gpa, great TEAS, and still got cut cause of an in progress class.... While people that have never even seen a bag-valve-mask or a pulse-ox finger monitor are getting in..... Oh well...

Guess it's CSULA for me then....

I signed up for 2pm, group C. Anyone else going at that time?

Anybody leaving from San Diego County to interview on Wednesday? I have mine at 3pm.

Wow! You for sure have the highest grade and test score I would of for sure thought you would of gotten in! I'm sorry to hear that that is not really fair..

I am in group B at 11:00am. Anyone else going at that time? What are everyone's scores? Just so we can see where the cutoff might be...

Nope... The default 'C' in for my in progress micro course(even though i currently have the highest grade in the class) sropped me from 9.6 to 9.1...

4.0 gpa doesn't get you so far after all... Froget the fact that i am a college science tutor, amd have medic experience.

Im toasted...

:(

Congrats to everyone who got an interview! I'm interviewing at 10am Group A. Anyone else have the same time/group?

Angel_12, what were your total points?

My score was 9.31 but last night I just found out that they count the in progress course as C and that bumped my GPA down to 8.8 ???? it's truly not fair

Does anyone know any other schools who accept the spring application ? ( beside csulb) I think I would have to apply again for next spring

thanks

Yup, I went from 9.6 to 9.1 because I'm taking micro right now…. I guess I will be fine if I apply for spring, but really wanted to start in the fall...

:(

An objective cut off must be made somewhere. You can argue it's not even fair because they shouldn't even consider looking at pre recs, give everyone an equal chance regardless of their background. Or on the other end, it's not fair to those that had applied with all pre reqs finished at the time of application while others are not finished at application deadline.
