I just submitted my application yesterday and thought I'd start a thread for this process! I was involved in one last year when I applied, and it was really helpful to know what was going on, and where my stats where with others! I was told that they are expecting over 500 applicants, and we would hear back by the end of February! Good luck everyone!
I got an email today for interview as well. Im so glad now.
I attended the information section back in september. And they told me it's not an "interview". they won't ask you why you want to be a nurse or something like that. They will have us gather around and do some activity like introduce or something. Im not sure. But it's not a real interview. ANyone with experience can tell us what to expect? does it mean we are accepted to the program already?? or the "interview" will play a critical part in the process as well?
I will call -------------- first thing on monday and ask her about this.
Mine is 9.45
what is an alternate anyway? will an alternate only fight against other alternate or against admitted too? I figured not participating in this forum for the last 3 weeks was a good idea lol. I had no idea when they would send emails. I thought it would be a month after the deadline so I was looking forward to mid march. Getting an email today was a bit surprising to me.
Optimind, I believe "qualified alternate" means those students who meet the minimum requirements -- thats why theres so many listed under the pool stats. Alternates are selected to be interviewed as well. I heard that we are already ranked even before the interviews and the dept knows who they want (approx 90 students). The other 30 are the alternates that are also ranked but are selected if the students from the 90 opt out. The interview is just to check if we know basic English and to check our communication skills.

I remember in the info section, she said that they would let computer do the whole thing to rank us based on our scores. The top 90 ones will be admitted. So yes, I guess a list of admitted students was already made. I also remember she said the interview would be "fun". So it's not something critically affecting our admission. What's bad is we don't know if we are on the admitted list. So another painful waiting is still ahead

Yeah, I'm hoping its because I've participated in an interview the first time I applied. I sent an email, I'll have to wait and see.
