CSULA Fall 2016 Nursing (BSN)

Updated:   Published

I realize it may be early, but I wanted to start a thread for the CSULA Fall 2016 nursing program hopefuls. I'm sure we will all have a lot of questions, especially because of the upcoming semester conversion. I have plenty of questions about application deadlines, volunteer hours, TEAS, etc. It will be nice to have a community where we can ask each other questions and offer advice. Eventually we can share stats, and we may even end up in the same cohort!

Hi guys! Once again, congrats to all who have been accepted!

I too have been accepted to both CSULB and CSULA nursing programs. I have decided to decline CSULA's offer and move forward with CSULB for this fall.

Good luck to all of you in CSULA SON's program this Fall and of course, to the alternates as well who also very much deserve this acceptance!

Take care everyone!

Hi! I will be applying next year and I wanted to know if I took a philos class that meets the requirements and a critical thinking english class that also meets the requirements which one would they use for my prereq gpa? Thanks!

Check assist.org

Whichever one falls under critical thinking is the one they are going to take. I have taken some PHIL class that aren't considered critical thinking but just GEs.

If both of them fall under the "critical thinking" umbrella, I think you choose which one to use. When you fill out the application on nursingcas, you specify which class fulfills your critical thinking component and what grade you received. Nursingcas will confirm it by checking your transcripts.

Have any of you from the wait list received a call or email?

Hello everyone

I have a question about prerequisites.

So all the prerequisite courses have to be taken before the deadline?

Like, if I were to apply for the fall 2017 and the deadline is sometime around the first week of January, all the prereq courses have to be done by the fall semester 2016?

Or could I still apply for the fall 2017, finish the courses during the spring semester, and send them a new transcript?

hello !

you can only have micro and stats in progress when you apply !

Hello all, just curious...when is the orientation for this cohort?

Hi everyone I have some questions for fall 2017 since you guys already went through the application process I thought I would ask you about it.

I took the TEAS at CSULA and on ATI's website it lists my selected school as CSULA, so will ATI automatically send my scores to CSULA for me?

I volunteered at a hospital in high school for a little over 100 hours and I don't know if it will count, can anyone clarify? I would sit in the volunteer office and wait for a task to be assigned to me. I would run samples to the lab from different departments and I would move and discharge patients with a wheelchair, would this meet their standards?

I'm finishing physiology at my community college in the fall (mid December), would I be able to meet the application deadline in January for fall 17? My profs will probably upload grades by Christmas (hopefully), so if i got a rushed transcript I could get my application in on time? I read somewhere you have to apply to CSULA in October or something and then the SON by January, can someone please outline how the application process works I have no idea, thanks so much for reading.

If you have 27 then I think you're in. If you have anymore questions, just shoot me a pm. I'm in the program.

I'm not sure about the average though. Probably also around 24
