Nursing Students Post Graduate

Anyone else applied? I know they're supposed to notify us on April 1st but I'm curious if anyone who applied got any feedback yet. :)

Thanks. I was surprised they were still in the process of notifying people. I am going to email her for the one on the 19th.

Congratulations for scoring an interview you guys! Unfortunately, I'm not so fortunate. :( I haven't received anything. The last email I have from Kathy was from January 28th, when she confirmed that they received my application and reminded me to apply to the university between Jan. 24th and Feb. 7th (completed and paid for it Feb. 6th). When did you guys turn in your applications? Out of curiosity, can you tell me what your application profile was like (i.e. gpa, teas score, etc.)?

I'm answering the question you asked me on the ucla thread here so we don't get too off topic for the ucla applicants. I turned in both the program and university applications pretty last minute actually. Both were submitted a couple of days before the deadline. I wouldn't stress too much about the order they were submitted because who knows how they're organizing it in the office. You can always email and ask Kathy if they're done inviting people for interviews. Every time I've emailed her she's always been very helpful and kind.

I'll tell you what my profile was like, even tho it's not too impressive. I have an overall GPA of 3.15, which I blame on my biology major. (lol at least that's what I keep telling myself - darn those O-chem and biochem classes). My last 60 units GPA was around 3.4 or 3.5, I can't remember exactly. I got mostly A's and a couple B's on the prerequisites. I got an 86.5% on my TEAS. I was also a nurse volunteer at 2 different hospitals, and I think my recommenders wrote me a good recommendation. All in all, I think a lot goes into consideration for the applicants besides the numbers. Hope that helps.

Thank you, xluescluesx. Your reply does help. :) Like you, my overall gpa is around 3.1 and I too blame it on being a Bio major. lol. It gives me some hope. I can't remember my last 60 unit gpa but it was better than 3.1. I got 9.7 on TEAS. I think my recommenders gave me a good recommendation as well. I've been working for a medical device company for the past 4 years but my actual patient care is only limited to my time as a phlebotomy student. I emailed Kathy last night and I'm really hoping she just hasn't completed reviewing my application.

Thanks again for your kind words, xluescluesx. I hope you get into a nursing school!

Don't worry I just was invited to an interview yesterday night. I doubt they are done! I was a bio major and had a 3.6 gpa overall. For the last 60 units, my gpa was 3.7. I had A's and B's for prereqs. My teas was 87. I have about 3 years hospital volunteer exp. I also did undergrad research and was involved in a club for a few years at school... if that mattered in my selection. Hope this helps!

Gee Sam... that makes me feel kinda crappy. LOL! Well I don't think you have anything to worry about, both here and UCLA. :D

Oh no! I was just trying to show my background for ADEcstatic- sorry!! :-( I could lose it all during the interview! I tend to get real nervous during those... you'll be fine- you got an interview too! :-)

Haha no I was just kidding. You have a great profile.

Phew good :-) and thanks. In the end though I feel that grades and test scores don't matter much. It's the health related experiences that'll hopefully get us somewhere! Good luck on your upcoming interview!!

Thanks, same to you. :)

Thanks, Sam198. :)

Out of curiosity, did all of you who received an interview finished your prereqs? I'm wondering if that's what's setting me back. I think my background is strong but I do have one pending course (Lifespan Dev) that I'm currently taking right now. I know priority is on people who completed everything but it would really suck if that's the reason I haven't received anything.

I had one course in progress but I finished it in December and sent in my transcripts at the end of the month. Do you still have courses in progress for spring?
