CSUF ABSN Fall 2021

I just wanted to create this forum for students who are applying to CSUF Fall 2021 for the ABSN program in case we had questions for each other, wanted to share thoughts, stats and to support each other through this journey.

Hi all,

I'm not sure if it's just me but CSUF isn't coming up on the Calstateapply page.  I'm trying to apply to the Fall 2021 term ABSN but Fullerton doesn't pop up.  Anybody else having this problem?

Hi!
I was able to find it on CSU Apply. Did you select the term for Fall 2021 as an undergraduate? I don't believe their supplemental or 2nd application for their SON has come out yet. (I believe it comes out Dec 1 so that one will be unavailable for now)

Hi Thanks for the quick response. I did everything exactly as fullerton's website said per this guide when I created my CalStateApply profile.

I made sure to put that I was looking applying for a second's bachelors and then looking for a second bachelors under Degree Goal.  

Once I tried adding programs, I can't find any of the fullerton's programs.

Were you able to find the ABSN program under fullerton? I notice that if I change my profile to looking for a first bachelor's than I can find fullerton's programs.  But I still can't find the ABSN.

I applied as a second degree candidate since I already received my bachelors as well. Also, make sure you're applying for the 2021-2022 cycle. I believe theres still an application page on CSU Apply for 2020-2021 because of Spring 2021. (I noticed this on NursingCAS too) I would recommend emailing CSUApply if you've already tried this!

I didn't see an official one. Their selection process just says that they use overall GPA, prerequisite GPA, statement of purpose using a rubric, completion of additional required classes, optional work experience, and optional volunteer experience.

Do u mind sharing the statement of purpose using a rubic because I don't remember seeing that in the application requirements.

It's listed under selection process on their website. I have only done CalStateApply application, so I don't know what is in the school of nursing app. It should have opened a few days ago though, so you should be able to look!

The required Statement of Purpose essay will be read and scored by Nursing faculty, utilizing a rubric. The essay prompt can be found inside the online application."

Hi all, I applied as well to CSUF college so far, waiting for my Fall grades to apply directly to the school of nursing. I still have to complete the second Chem class in Spring, anyone else in a similar situation? Hoping that won't ruin my chances of acceptance..
