CSUB Nursing Program for Fall 2014

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello, I'm making this thread for everyone thinking of applying and applying to CSUB's nursing program for the Fall 2014! This is the month for transfers (like me) to submit the CSU Mentor app. The nursing app is already posted on the college's website!

Any nursing hopefuls for fall 2014?

Hi Everyone,

I have applied for the CSUB BSN 2014 program as well but I wanted to know about the physiology class situation. some of the students were not able to get into the physiology class spring 2014 so , does this mean that they will do the summer 2014 class and the admission letters will be delayed or it will be the same date? I was wondering if anyone had any idea about this situation? will the send out letters at the regular time or not? If anyone knows about this please do share. thank you and congratulations to all of you guys for getting such awesome TEAS score.

GOOD LUCK :)

Welcome!

When you say that "some of the students were not able to get into the physiology class spring 2014", do you mean students at CSUB or the college where you attend?

How did you do on your TEAS? :)

I believe the acceptance letters will be delayed due to some students having to tak the class during the summer

I see that you attend CSUB too. Why weren't people able to get into a physiology class? Not enough sections or lack of funding?

Exactly. Only one teacher teaches the lecture ANDfour labs. He didn't want to have more than 26 people per lab.

WHAT! That's crazy.... I wonder what's going to happen with acceptance/rejection notifications then.

Part of me thinks that they will go ahead and stick with their timeline since the advisers were pretty clear about finishing the prerequisites by June 16 when I attended the information session. The application states:

I understand the 8 required prerequisites must be completed by June 16, 2014 or my application will be excluded from consideration. Prerequisites scheduled to be taken in summer 2014 will not be considered.

But then again, if a lot of people couldn't get into the Physiology class, perhaps the SON will decide to push their timeline back further.

Pushing back the deadline would definitely be intense considering that they're one of the last CSU's to notify their applicants (all the way till July!!!). I can't imagine what it would be like for those of us transferring from CC's and other CSU's to find out so late.

Hi,

I am attending csub right now . I meant students at csub. I was worried about this because this is one program who is gonna send out letters so late :( I got 80% on my TEAS which is lower than some of the people on this forum ... Hopefully I have a chance :)

Awwww I was afraid of this because on the application it said specifically that all of the prerequisite should be completed by June 16 because the letter of acceptance/ rejection are sent out in July but if they are gonna wait till summer quarter to finish god know when we will be able to he the letters ... This school is my first choice and I have applied at other schools as well but I was hoping to hear from csub first :( oh well it is what it is :)

I completely agree with you... I think I should email the counsellor and ask her to clarify or this will bother me even more. There was an email a while back saying that she was able to put few students on wait list in physiology class I wonder if there are not lot of students who applied for BSN 2014 and didn't get in the class. This whole waiting game is killing me :(

They are still going to accept peoples class if they take it during summer. The notifications I believe are going to be pushed back.

Sheer curiosity, how do you know this? Was this confirmed by ------------ (can't post full name) or another pre-nursing/nursing advisor?

This makes me nervous!

Congratulations on your TEAS score! I totally get what you mean about the waiting game... I hate waiting too, especially waiting so long to hear from CSUB since I will have to move there. Where else did you apply to? If you decide to email her, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update us and tell us what she said!

From another advisor. But who knows what they are actually going to do.
