Hi everyone! I'm wondering who's applying for stanislaus nursing program this spring 2015? Also, what is your overall stats? Btw, I am new to this community, so I'm still learning how to use this haha
Thanks for the update on possible notification dates. I have a bachelor's already so have had no fees because they will not enroll into the University unless I am accepted into the BSN program. They still charged me the university application fee, lol! If I don't get in I am going to ask for a refund:)
mishabc, good luck! Have you thought of SJ Delta's ADN Program if you don't get in? It is merit based, so no lottery, but not as competitive as Sac or Stan.
@dlr13 Good luck to you too! What is your bachelors in? What made you decide to go back to school for your nursing degree?
I have not considered Delta only because I do not want an Associates. I have racked up quite the student loan to just go back to a community college and get an AA/AS. I have talked to several hospital human resources departments and they all said that during the hiring phase, they hire the applicants with bachelors verses the ones with associates. An associates in nursing is going to be gone here shortly and only a bachelors will be the option.
Hopefully we here BY November 14th... so thats less than 3 weeks away.
I am in the top 20 alternate list, but even if I am lucky enough to get a seat.. I don't think I'll be taking it either way because the program is 3 years.
I'm still waiting on Sac and Chico so we'll see!
CCSF works though because it'll be cheaper for me until I can go on to a BSN bridge program.
Wish me luck! X)
GOODMED:
If your child plans on attending CSU Stanislaus even if they don't get in, then yes, pay them. But if not... The risk is up to you. If they get to their alternate # and the enrollment fee isn't paid. They'll get passed up. Good luck!
CHELLESSSS: 3 year program sounds grueling, but the way CSU stanislaus has their program set up, I hear it's not as "pull your hair out" stressful. You'll only be in class two days a week and when clinicals start, your only in class/hospital 3 days a week. More time to study and less time to stress. whatever you decide.... Good luck :)
Hello everyone!
I received my letter last week stating that I am an alternate. Does anyone know if alternates are still offered an available slot if they are in-progress this semester? I'm currently taking my last pre-req at Stan and expect to complete it next month. I hope I wouldn't be passed over for that reason!
