Welcome everyone!
This topic is open for those waiting, new applicants, curious individuals, etc. :)
I thought I was going to enter for the fall 2013 cohort (Temecula) but looks like it filled up before they ever evaluated my final set of transcripts. However, its good to know we all get at least 1-3 chances to find out. I figured we can all join in on how we are looking forward to being accepted for the spring 2014 cohort (San Marcos).
Congratulations to all who got in! I was wondering how long after you sent all your documents TEAS, transcripts, etc. did it take until you found out you got in?[/quote']Hi! I submitted all my paperwork in late Feb. of 2013, expecting to get into their Fall '13 Cohort. I didn't hear ANYTHING until June, which was an evaluation letter. Then in Aug 2013 I got an acceptance email for their spring '14 cohort.
Good Luck with your Application!
@ jNugget, I did get an email about a conditional enrollment.. On behalf of the University community, we are pleased to offer you conditional admission to California State University San Marcos' Spring 2014 ABSN program. I actually applied not to long ago..and got the acceptance pretty quick after that..I do hope you hear from them soon!!! I think I applied like a month or 2 ago..but I kind of don't know what I am missing out on..maybe one of my classes didn't cover a prereq course. Let me know if this helps..I can send you a more in depth email of that 'conditional' acceptance if that would help?
@suzujacuzy thanks for letting me know! Unfortunately, I think it's bad news for me unless my advisor just hasn't sent his out. If you don't mind me asking, do you know what your point total was? I'm wondering if I was even competitive with this rounds applicants. I too sent in all my stuff recently and was hoping to hear back quick! I haven't given up yet! Congrats again, I bet you feel so relieved!
To all waiting to find out: I called yesterday and the lady on the phone said that the Spring 2014 Cohort is full. They begin evaluations for Summer 2014 (at the Temecula campus) in November. I hope that helps. Sorry to anyone who's as disappointed as I am, but better luck next round!
To be fair, I just submitted the last of my paperwork on 10-2, so the chances of me getting in to the Spring Cohort were VERY slim!
Hello everyone I was also admitted into Cohort 18! Anyone moving down from Northern California?
Congratulations!! I will be moving from the San Leandro area. What about you? Can't wait to meet you!
This forum is amazing..I just got my intent to enroll email today!! Congrats to those already in, and good luck to those who are applying! So excited to start! Ill be moving down to the area..Im from the OC so if anyone is interested in a room please let me knowSuzy
Congrats Suzy! I can't private message anyone yet since I haven't reached 15 posts.. I was planning to wait until orientation to meet everyone and see who wants to rent an apartment/house together. I don't know the area at all!

I submitted my application and everything else early August and I received the acceptance email in late August. So I heard from them very quickly! But I think that's because I had everything completed (no classes IP). Did you ever receive an intial evaluation? There's a chance that you can still get into Spring '14 since some students may deny their acceptance. Don't give up just yet!
@jennile.07: Thanks for the kind words! I do still have a glimmer of hope that someone who got in will choose another school! I did not receive an initial evaluation, but they didn't receive all of my paperwork until about a week ago, so that's a tight timeline. How long after turning your stuff in did you get the evaluation?
Hi apham! Here is a link to their point system: http://www.csusm.edu/el/degreeprograms/absn/ABSNProgramAssignedPointsCriteria.pdf I'm not sure if it's the one they still use but it should give you an idea. Hope this helps!
Are you applying to Spring 2014? Fall 2014?
Yay! thanks so much for providing that link :) I think I'll be applying to the Fall 2014 if not the Spring 2014. I still need to prepare for the TEAS and take it! have u taken that exam yet? and which start date are you applying to?
Hi jennile.07
Just kidding... I realized that you have already been accepted. Congrats!!! could you tell me how the application process was like for you or if you know anything about how competitive the program is?
@jnugget Oh no...Well I do hope nothing but the best of luck! There is always the summer cohort!! I actually didn't know about the 'point' system..I know csulb did that but I wasn't aware of csusm's point system. My nursing core gpa was 3.75 and my overall gpa was a 3.85, I have a degree in liberal studies and only needed hdev (my conditional acceptance)..I really hope this helps you out..I definitely am relieved! I sadly only applied to 2 schools cause of all the different requirements for all the diff schools (so annoying!!) but my dream school/plan was UCSF ELMN program or NYU's ABSN (dream work location)
@suzyjacuzy thanks for all the info! Unfortunately, I talked to my advisor today and didn't make it for spring. Hoping to make it into the summer cohort though! I was hoping for spring just because San Marcos is so much closer and way less of a commute. Congratulations again though on your admission and good luck! Let the rest if us know how first semester works out :)
@driven721 thanks for posting what you found out. Did they say when in November they will start notifying people? Because I'm right there with you! Crossing my fingers I get into the summer cohort. This whole process is STRESSING me out!
