Hi fellow pre-nursing students!
I'd like to start a thread to those applying or have already applied to the ABSN program for Fall 2013 (Temecula/San Marcos locations)
I personally have not applied yet. I still have Anatomy and Microbiology in progress this Spring semester and will be completing Physiology during Summer. I'd like to apply soon, but quite hesitant since I still have quite a number of courses IP.
I will be contacting an advisor within this week and will definitely update this thread with further information. It might be too early to say, but good luck to all of us!
hi there! i only got the first few words of your PM but i cant access it because it says im not active enough send me an email :) [email protected] :)
Even if you dont get considered for this cohort, the great thing about csusm, they keep you on record and consider you for the next application period because of their rolling application, so there is still a chance for spring too!!Good luck to you all!
I considered for a while to roll over for the spring 2014 because I like being closer to San Diego. All of my family and friends are here and there quite a bit of things to do here. Also, I actually used to live in Temecula...somehow keep forgetting to mention this...to be exact Murrieta but it has definitely grown over the years. More shopping centers and things to do now than what I remember but who has the time really when you're working your butt off to pass your nursing classes and the NCLEX!
Does anyone know if Fall 2013 cohort is still accepting? The Admissions and Records at CSUSM has frustrated me. I sent a packet of my transcripts and my TEAS over a month ago. A few days after submitting my documents, I received an email that said ALL my documents were missing. I then called Records and they told me that all my documents have all been received and that evaluation takes about 3-6 weeks. Since I recently turned in my last Spring transcript from SDCC, I decided to follow up on my application only to be told that only one transcripts has been received and I'm still missing the rest of my documents! Transcripts ain't cheap and the whole process is already nerve-racking as it is!
BOTTOM LINE: BE PERSISTENT AND ALWAYS FOLLOW UP ON YOUR APPLICATION. It's their job to answer all your questions. /rant
This just happened to me. Apparently they never received my transcript from my last CC class I took in the spring. This is pretty frustrating since I do have the receipt and records from it. My advisor even mentioned she received both in my e-mail and I did by following up to be 100% sure they did and now it seems like they don't have it. WHAT!

Just called my local CC and they sent it on the 13th! Ah...no wonder I was feeling uneasy about my status for a while.

Complete confusion from the previous person I called. It was printed on the 13th then sent out on the 18th...phew. But any who, definitely check up on your final transcripts! Hope everyone's enjoying their summer so far!
For those who are moving to Temecula, when are you planning on doing so? I might have to do this because I realized the commuting is awful in the mornings.

Hi! Congrats! Does this mean you have been accepted? If I get accepted *fingers crossed*, I would be moving to Temecula as well from LA.

Oh not yet! I wish it was that soon. Hopefully the transcript gets evaluated sooner so I can just relax. I'm on vacation in Canada and I've been checking my emails everyday as well as this forum. Haha.
Should I apply now? I still have to take Critical thinking and Speech this summer...but I'm worried the Spring cohort might already start filling up? Does anyone know how full fall or spring is?
The sooner you submit it, the sooner your application will be processed. Spring shouldn't be full yet since we still got another month to go. Also, you might be rolled over in the spring because you may be cutting it close with submitting and being evaluated. It takes 6-10 weeks give or take.

Hi Everyone! First of all, CONGRATS to everyone who has been accepted!!!! That is so exciting!!!!!!
I hope to join you all :)
I applied on May 3rd, and just a couple days ago received my official complete advising evaluation - I have everything in that they need (..the only thing is I have to do is send a course syllabus to petition for my Statistics 13 class that I took at UC Davis during my undergrad --but that is only a 'support' course, so I wouldnt think that they would need that to still process my application, right??!)
Anyway, I have been reading through this thread, and it seems like (correct me if Im wrong!) that most of you found out pretty quickly after receiving your complete evaluation (if you didnt need to send them anything else of course) your acceptance letter!!! Is that true? I cant wait to find out!!!
Also, it looks like fall 2013 is still open from what it sounds like --- I would LOVE to be admitted for Fall, even though originally I had applied thinking it was too late so I think I put I was applying for Spring 2014....I hope since it is rolling admissions, and if fall is open, that they would admit for that one? I just emailed my advisor about it to double check.
Anyway, if anyone has any input on anything I discussed, would love to hear it!! I REALLY REALLY want to go to CSU San Marcos :) Looks like a great program and a beautiful area of California. I live in a suburb of Sacramento right now, so I would be re-locating.
Thanks for reading :)
