CSU Nursing School Hopeful

Published

Hi all!

I'm currently in the process of applying to nursing school for Fall 2016. The schools I am applying to are SFSU, SDSU, CSULA, CSU Stanislaus, CSU Bakersfield, Sac State, and CSU Long Beach. I am EXTREMELY anxious and hesitant on whether or not I will be getting into a program especially seeing how competitive it has been.

My stats are for SFSU, CSULA, and CSUSTAN are:

GPA- 3.94

Prereq- 3.9

TEAS - 85.3%

Supplemental: Bilingual, 100+ volunteer hours in Ambulatory, Alzheimer's Care, and Post-Partum.

I plan on retaking my TEAS for the rest of my schools, yet unfortunately am cutting it close for SFSU's deadline :( Good luck to you all!

Hey! I am applying to Sfsu and sac as well! Good luck! This is such a stressful process. Glad i found someone else going through the same thing.

I got into Stanislaus with around the same stats as you! Sac is ultra competitive and idk about the other ones. Well good luck!

I think applying to all of those programs is a great idea given that all the CSU programs are impacted. I would suggest taking the TEAS again, it definitely will not hurt to raise that score. Good Luck, I think you have a strong chance of getting into a program!

You sound like a very competitive applicant to me. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! Have you guys heard anything else back from schools?

From looking through forums, I didn't make the cut off point for Long Beach & still no word from anywhere else.

I am waiting to hear from Stan state, I have no idea when their letters are being sent out. The waiting is killing me[emoji30]

I spoke to Stanislaus SON and they said it would be via mail, thats how I got admission to the university as well. Also the lady said that you should expect admission notices prior to May 1st which is when intent to enroll is due.

Took the TEAS again and ended up with an 86.7% for Sac State & Bakersfield. I was really hoping for something within the 90s, but my nerves got the best of me as time was going down :(

Fingers crossed!

I also called Stan and got the same answer. I wish they sent out emails! I got an email for the university about my admission a week before anything came in the mail. I read the thread for Stan state last fall and letters were sent out for them the last week in March. I keep checking the mail hoping to be surprised! Please update when you hear from them.

For those applying to SF,

On another forum apparently today is the last day to receive emails for interviews. Someone said interviews are also required for admission :(

Do you happen to have your specific stats, if you don't mind sharing? Stanislaus is kind of my #1 right now!
