CSU Long Beach BSN Spring 2023

Published

Hi everyone! I know application cycle starts in August but I wanted to create this forum just in case somebody has questions and perhaps share some stats.

Mine are:

Science GPA: 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 4.0

TEAS Composite: 98.0

TEAS Reading: 93.6

I hope we can create a group chat of some sort so it's easier for us to communicate whenever someone has questions during the application period!

Hi everyone!

After getting rejected last fall, I’m re-applying for Spring 2023.

My stats:

GE GPA : 4.0

SCIENCE GPA : 3.76

TEAS OVERALL : 90

TEAS READING : 87.2

TOTAL POINTS : 9.304

I’m getting pretty anxious because my score is really low compared to everyone else so I think I’m gonna have to take the TEAS again before submitting my supplemental app. ?

You’ve got this!! Remember Spring is way less competitive than fall. ?

Thanks! I'm gonna aim for at least 93% next time on my TEAS. Also, do you know if there's a difference between the two options (nursing or nursing - registered nurse) on CalState Apply??

Yes! Choose the nursing BS not the RN one. It says so on their website somewhere but I can’t remember where. For the TEAS what did you struggle on most if you don’t mind me asking?

Great! I chose that one because I wasn't sure haha. For the TEAS I scored lowest in English and Language Usage ?

Me too! I’ve been watching Carolyn McAllister on Youtube for reading and ELU though and she’s great!

Hi everyone,

I have a question in regards to the Cal State Apply application and supplemental application. I'm planning to retake the TEAS right before the deadline next month, but is it okay to submit my current TEAS score on the Cal State Apply application and just submit my new score on the supplemental application? Or should I input the date that I plan on retaking the test?

Go ahead and submit your current scores and then you can update it by sending the new ones when you take it again! They only look at the most recent scores. Saw a comment in the fall 2022 thread I think.

I’m not sure but I know someone from another thread emailed them and they said you can submit multiple scores but they only look at the most recent submission ?

Hey everyone!

Just took the TEAS again and improved my score so here's my new stats:

Science GPA: 4.0 (4pts)

GenEd GPA: 3.8 (1.9pts)

TEAS Composite: 92.7% (1.854pts)

TEAS Reading: 97.4% (1.948pts)

Total points: 9.702

Good luck to everyone! ?

P.S. If you've already taken the TEAS once, I highly recommend taking it again if you want to try for a higher score because I got the exact same test as before and was able to remember most of my answers!

Hello,

Does anybody know what it means? Do we have to contact the Nursing Department or sth? And also, I just finished my TEAS test yesterday at CSULB, do we still have to send the result to the school again before Sept 21? Submit the supplemental application and that's it right?

Thanks!

Hello! So that’s just saying that you recognize there’s another separate application for the school of nursing. You should have already completed the Cal State Apply application & supplemental application (if you’re a transfer) and then there’s another application for the SON (I think I posted it in the beginning of this thread) that’s on their website. Also, if you took your TEAS exam at CSULB the transcript should automatically be sent there. ?
