CSU Chico Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! I couldn't find the spring 2019 forum, so I decided to start one myself. I am applying to chico for the spring 2019 cohort and was wondering who else is applying for this semester. I am applying with 92 points.

I just got my SAC state decision (waitlisted) and it's making me even more nervous to hear back from Chico now!!! haha I really hope they don't wait until Monday to send out the decisions.

If you are nervous with 93, imagine me with 91 hehe

the reason I'm so nervous is because I made an accidental error on my nursingcas application! (I did reach out to the school and let them know about it and they did say I would be okay) but still!! lol. We'll be okay! :-) haha

I guess we have gotta continue waiting...

Did you get an email? I haven't gotten anything yet

Did you get an email? I haven't gotten anything yet

Yes, the email says:

Thank you for your continued patience as we work to complete our review of applications for spring 2019. Because we strive to make a thorough and accurate assessment of every application, the process can take an extensive amount of time. The Application Review Committee is working diligently to complete our reviews. Our goal is to have a decision out by Monday, Dec. 10 or Tuesday, Dec. 11. You will receive notification through this email process once the point sort has been run and seat offers determined.

Did anyone else got it? I wonder if it was from an automatic system because I got it around 8am.

Yep. Got it around 8 in the morning as well.

I hope we hear back from them today...

Me too. The suspense is terrible lol

Hi cassieaustin, i see that you applied to chico for the fall 2018 cohort. If you dont mind me asking, what happened?

Hey! Yes I did apply to Chico for Fall 2018. So the Chico Self Calculator told me I had 91 points so that's what i thought all along. I have all A's and 2 B's (in anatomy and physio). Turns out the self calculator counts your points assuming you have the same # of credits as Chico courses. Unfortunate at my JC, (Solano Community College) anatomy and physio are worth 5 units/credits each, and at Chico they're worth 4 credits each. Long story short because my Science GPA was calculated using my JC's credit values and not those of Chico's, I ended up having a 3.44 Science GPA, instead of a 3.5 which is what the Chico calculator told me. So while I thought I had 91 points, I actually had 90 and did not get into the program. So essentially had my Science GPA been calculated as if I took the classes at Chico (where they are worth 4 credits) I would have gotten into te program. The cutoff was originally 91.5 but they ended up taking everyone with 91 points (and some with 90 points I believe) off of the waitlist. I now have 2 more points from completing corequisites which puts me at 92 points. :). Sorry for the long response but I hope that made sense and I explained it okay!

Wow, i see... well, i think i sit at 91 points with chico, and it is my last hope, so i hope the point cut off limit this year does not increase that much...
