CSN Spring 2015

Is anyone applying for Spring 2015 Nursing Program 2015? I applied for Fall 2014 with 37 points and will be applying for Spring 2015 with 38 points. Does anyone have pointers for the application process? Has anyone gone to the limited entry workshop? I have been discouraged, and need some uplifting information.

This is a semi embarrassing question to ask I think...I have a prescription I take thats classified as a controlled substance. I have a prescription, a legal one from my doc...I was reading the drug test policy about it and when the dean calls about my test coming up positive for something, do I just bring my prescription then? or should I bring it to the lab with me?

I do drug tests as part of my job. what happens is the technician at quest does not care to see the prescription or even know about it. just do the test and when it shows up positive the company that does the actually lab testing of the specimen calls. It's known as the MRO doctor. when he calls he will tell you what he found and let's you know that you have 72 hours to provided them with documentation via fax or email. once he receives that then results gets reported back to the school director or dean stating positive result, prescription verified and a few other things. If it's like a ADD med or something like that it's no big deal. Pain meds have to be justified that you do not take them while operating vehicles or that it's not needed while doing clinicals or at school.... Hope this helps ?

Does anyone have knowledge of financial aid? Do we need to wait until our classes (101) have been added before we can apply for any loans? I haven't used it before, but these courses, supplies, and fees are adding up very quickly. :-/

Do we need to register on mycsn now that we have our assigned schedules?

Wow this is the most helpful thing ever. Can I ask where you work? I'm just curious. It's very similar to adderall but not for ADHD or anything. Its in the same class as Adderall and those other ADD meds! Thank you so much for this clarification. Its not a long term thing. Should I just get a copy of my prescription from Walgreens, or my doctor?

Financial aid takes a while to get going so if you haven't already turned in your FAFSA then you need to ASAP. Once you do that there's a couple other things you need to do like counseling and a master promissory note training thing that takes like 10 minutes. You will also need to submit a loan request form if you would like to receive loans. In processing your FAFSA it will automatically state if you can receive grants or loans or both. This process usually takes about a month or so when it comes to the financial aid office which I find to be alot slower than my other college. I don't know the deadline in order to recieve your loans prior to spring starting but I want to say it was either today or next friday. Loans and grants disburse Jan. 13th. as long as you have financial aid in the system your classes will not be dropped. Loans and grants pay for tuition and fees first then the remainder of what you accepted is disbursed to you for whatever use you choose ie. rent, books, gas, groceries, uniforms etc.

I work for ARC... we are a small private company that does urgent care and other things. Our biggest competitor is Concentra ? lol.... And yes just go to Walgreens and ask for your report. it will have to include letterhead, dose, name, and dates prescribed for all prescriptions in the last 6 months.... I went thru the same thing not to long ago for an on-call job I took I was on Vyvanse and it showed up but it was no big deal ?

Yes you need to register your classes and also register for NURS 125b. I would do it ASAP because there is only like 5 different class times to choose from for that and 2 or 3 of them are online. so if your not the online type especially for pharmacology I would get on there now lol .

Oh ok, yeah I've heard of Vyvanse and one that starts with a C I can't think of now haha but I hope its no big deal. It seems like another hassle I don't want/need! Do I just scan it as a document when I get it?

The biggest thing I am worried about is this whole book thing. The ebook program is really awesome and will say along of book lugging around but at the same time having a physical book is nice. I feel like I could flip back and forth alot faster with it and stuff.

I just really don't know what to do ??

Either way it's alot of money but I worry about buying used (why I duno since I normally always buy used but I guess because it's nursing I'm worried about setting myself up for failure just by being cheap ?)

Help! What is everyone else's justification for the whole book issue?

Yes you can. I did not have a scanner so I used one of those scanner pdf apps on my phone and emailed it. it worked out just fine.

Don't worry about it you will be fine. it will all work out in the end. just stay positive ?
