CSN Spring 2015

U.S.A. Nevada

Is anyone applying for Spring 2015 Nursing Program 2015? I applied for Fall 2014 with 37 points and will be applying for Spring 2015 with 38 points. Does anyone have pointers for the application process? Has anyone gone to the limited entry workshop? I have been discouraged, and need some uplifting information.

I believe it was on the 30th of April

I wouldn't worry about it too much then. They should have it done well before the app deadline.

Thanks.. hope they approve n get it right this time..they credited my physio for Bio 223 n left my anatomy as an elective :$ got it all screwed up lol.. just gotta hope for the best I guess :)

Oh geez. Last year I was told that it was only 1-2 people working on transcript evals for the whole of CSN. Did they give you a timeframe? I would contact them if the eval isn't done by the end of June.

I was relieved to get an email with the title "Transfer Credit Evaluation" this morning, but they never posted it on "my CSN" which according to the letter means, they denied my request. Does anyone know if there's any appeals one can do, or how to even get in touch with the people who handle these requests to see why it was denied and so forth?

I submitted a credit evaluation form this past March and I received the notice beginning of May on it but I saw that it was approved beginning of April on my what-if report. Im hoping my evaluation I'm sending in second week of August gets processed by Sept 1st for biol 224. The school said they will try and get it done quickly since i'm applying to a limited entry program. I should have 41 pts if I can get 2 pts on my TEAS otherwise without biol 224 i'm sitting at 31 pts :-/

I do have a question for everyone tho.... so is the orientation the only mandatory thing or is the workshop and academic advisement mandatory also? I live in Reno and I will only be in Vegas for a week to attend the August 13th orientation and I was wondering if I need to make plans to do those other things too.

Lastly, any recommendations on studying for the TEAS ?? I took it on May 17th and just kinda winged it to see how I would do since that week was finals week for me here in Reno. (I had two micro, two anatomy, and a CNA exam) I did pretty decent on all the sections and ended up with a 75% overall but I failed reading with a 78.4 :-(

The health programs orientation is mandatory in order to get a (nursing - NOT regular) academic advising appointment. Both are necessary in order to submit an application. If you fail to do them they probably won't even look at your application. The workshop is just recommended, I never went to one and I was accepted on my first time applying. If you call the limited entry office a nice lady can help you or a nice gentleman in the health advising office at the Charleston campus (can't list names - pm me if you want them :) ). Let me know if you (or anyone) have any other questions. I'm going into my 4th semester and I like to help :)

When submitting all my evaluations and sub waivers I was told that whatever class I am looking to transfer or get approved has to be approved thru that department so I would check with the CSN science department...you also must submit a copy of the course description and picture of the catalog from the school you took the course at with your evaluation request.

What I worry most about is I can only make the orientation on August 13th. And afterwards make an appt to see an advisor. Do you think I would be able to get in to see someone on the 14th or 15th? I was told they may also do a phone advisement since im out of town...do you think thats true? its so hard to talk to the limited entry lady direct. I always get her voicemail.

More than likely you won't be able to get an appointment that soon but it doesn't hurt to try. From what I understand you can't even schedule until you go to the orientation and they tend to fill up quickly. I'm not sure about phone advisement, I would call the health advising office for that info. I'll pm you some names and email addresses.
