Hello everyone, I'm new to the site and I was wondering if there are any fellow CSN RN Spring '13 hopefuls out there. I just turned in my application today and I would love to get to know some of my potential classmates through this forum :)
From the email I sent to the LE office about the number of applications they received:
"There are 123 for the regular track and 24 for the extended track"
I asked if this is less than previous semesters. If so, that is GREAT news for us considering there are usually about 136 F/T spots and 24 P/T spots!!! I'm SO happy! :)
Edit: she also said this after I asked if this was less than prior semesters:
"Yes, this is an unusually low number! It's a great time to have applied"

If only 123 applied for the regular track, then I super excited!
Did anyone provide their high school diploma in their application packet? I was reading the info from the school's website about the selection criteria and on the second page it states the following:
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT FOR ADN APPLICANTS (English language
proficiency requirements for RN-program admission):
All ADN program applicants are required to demonstrate English Language Proficiency. Demonstration of
English Language Proficiency includes one of the following:
● Copy of unofficial transcript showing secondary/high school graduation or degree completion at a
college or university in Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada (except Quebec), Ireland,
Trinidad, Tobago, South Africa, Ghana, Jamaica, Barbados, or United States/territory.
I went to high school in Nevada (graduated in '03 and I have no idea where my diploma is) and I already have a certificate (dental assisting) from CSN. I'm fairly certain that they know that English is my primary language but I wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something from my app. Maybe I'm just being exceptionally paranoid :/
You are looking at the selection criteria for Fall 2013. The one for Spring 2013 does not indicate to attach a copy of your HS diploma nor does the application or checklist. It looks like they have changed a few things for Fall. I did not attach a copy of my HS diploma... When I turned my application in I asked them to take a look at it because it seemed so simple and I was sure I was missing something. She said it looked fine and took it. I think it is very easy to become paranoid at this stage of the game. Check it out and let me know what you think.

You're absolutely right. I really need to stop stressing about it! It's making me crazy!! I had the lady look over my packet when I turned it in as well and she said it was fine. I had to search the csn website for the spring 13 selection criteria because they updated the link on the ADN info page.
Holy crap, that's great news! Thanks for sharing! I'm pretty sure it send on the prerequisite sheets that there's a maximum 136 open spots for Spring 2013! If so, wow!! I'm getting excited, even with my 24 points lol. I'm so glad I applied and I really hope I get in, too! Good luck everyone, let me know if you hear anything else!
I also applied for Spring 2013 with 30 points. Ive been freaking out the last few months. Thats great news if there really weren't that many applicants. I heard that many students have been having trouble with the new TEAS exam (version five), so maybe that is the reason... Good luck to everyone and hopefully we will see each other next semester!

Thanks so much for your response! I was just hoping that there aren't too many people with really high points that applied and that people with the same amount of points as I didn't bother lol. But yeah I'm not keeping my hopes up, I just wanted to apply just in case :) And its good to know it actually takes way more than the 15 days it says on the website, I've been waiting assuming it would come out next week!
