CSN RN Fall 2012

U.S.A. Nevada

Hi Everyone!

I am new to the site and will be applying to CSN's RN program in March. I wanted to start a thread and see who will be applying with me and how things are coming along for everyone. :) I have all pre-reqs completed with a pre-req GPA of 3.58. I took the TEAS about a month ago and I passed, but wasn't thrilled with my score, particularly in science. I got an adjusted individual total score of 74.7%. Reading: 92.9%, Math 70%, Science 60.4%, and English & Language Usage: 76.7%. I barely passed the science portion and have signed up to take the TEAS one more time in February. With my current TEAS score, I have a total of 29 points for my application. I'm really hoping to get a better score and another point or two from the second TEAS!

Please let me know if you'll be applying in this cycle. I'd love to exchange advice and information and just connect with *hopefully* some future classmates! :)

I put them on a 3x5 and laminated it and carried it everywhere. Studied it whenever I had a chance. you need it for other semesters as well.

the best study guide i can recommend is the nclex style questions in evolve and nurselogic as far as 101 goes...

for pharm i suggest making your own flashcards for the prototype drugs with the important information that the instructor highlights (at least this was my method for success for online pharm with R)

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew the best place to get a physical, for the cheapest? (All these supplies and requirements are making me so broke! haha) Thanks for the help!

Does your insurance cover them? i just went to my Dr and had one done and just cost me my co-pay. You can also go to Walgreens or CVS, but I think they cost like $60ish!

They do physicals at The Vaccine Center too (where I got my TB test). Not sure how much

I got mine done at CVS because I don't have a primary care dr.. It was about $65

My insurance usually does cover it, but the doctor I usually go to says that they don't anymore and want to charge me $80. I will check around. Thanks everyone!

From what I have found a lot of the insurances will only cover physicals for preventive care. Unfortunately the physical we need is not considered preventive and therefore not covered. If you are lucky enough that your doctor will send in the paperwork as a preventative care physical and still fill out that form then your insurance will likely cover it, but most will tell you sorry your insurance does not cover physicals for sports, employment, etc.

The cheapest I found was through the company provided by CSN which cost $60.

Specializes in Psych! maybe.....

Got mine done through CVS as well. Made good friends with the doctor at the clinic. The only thing is that you may have to come back after scheduling an appointment. About 65 bucks, but it's useful for a year, so try to get it done, but make sure it's effective through the year.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between buying the book bundle at CSN and just purchasing online at Amazon? I know that CSN offers the ebooks with theirs but Amazon's price is about $180 less for brand new books. I purchased the bundle today but might return it and just buy the books online instead.

I'm curious to know this too. I want both the books and e-books.

The only thing you'll miss is the pageburst and the evolve passcode things.
