CSN Fall 2015 - Discussion area for our cohort Welcome!!

I think they make up wait on purpose to see who is really dedicated! Just kidding!! It is awful though. I just want to know already. I wish everyone who applied luck. It would be fun to get to know each other a bit before classes start and we are all working hard!

We will see each other quite a bit during the meetings prior to entering the program. I know a lot of cohorts use Facebook to keep in contact with each other. So that's always an option.

Im guessing 24 days until we hear anything. (May 4th)

At least all my shots and immunizations are ready.... And I have a few sets of scrubs. So that makes it easier this time around.

They made you get the scrubs and stuff as an alternate? I'm fully sure how they were the alternates. But you are right at least you are good to go for all the shots and stuff =D

Some alternates found out a month or more in advance whether they got in or not. I was told the Thursday before school started that I didn't make it. So I was doing almost everything that everyone else was doing. There wouldn't be enough time to have everything ready in 3-4 days.

Being an alternate is harder than being accepted. It's stressful and really confusing, because your told not to do anything, even though you DO NEED to get immunizations and stuff done prior to certain dates.

As an alternate it is best to have everything done just as everyone else is because they can potentially accept you days before school starts, as it happened with a friend of mine.

Im jst here waiting patiently

I just signed up for the Toolbox class that will be held this summer. I took it over Christmas break and it was great. I highly recommend it for anyone going into the program this fall.

NURS 285 (summer 2015)

3 weeks long- nursing math and reporting

Just a heads up: There was a math test during orientation the week before the program started. I'm not sure if they do that every time, but it was a bit surprising. If I hadn't taken the toolbox class, I would've had no chance passing that test. I don't think it's graded, but it is used to scope where everyone is at. Id rather get ahead in math than fall behind.

I thought you couldn't enroll in the toolbox class until after getting accepted. In other words, after the call of acceptance in May. If not, then I will enroll in it as well. thanks.

I thought so too! I just enrolled in the 10am-11:30 toolbox class. So what do you guys think? Should we expect calls on the 1st or 4th of May?

lol, probably the fourth. I also enrolled jst now! For 8am.

Someone posted on Facebook that acceptance call are going out today. Not sure if this is correct or not. Has anyone heard?

I plan on posting here as soon as I get the call. I still think we are two weeks out.
