I've been giving thought to the kinds of jobs available and was thinking it'd be cool to be a nurse on a cruise ship.
The question being, anyone actually done this?

I had thought about this when I was younger but never perused it. I got married and had kids; it just wasn't in the cards for me I guess. Could you imagine what it would look like out your office window? Nothing but water and beautiful sunrises and sunsets!

Is it worth a shot? Well..when you are old and you look back you will more than likely be happy with the risks you took and cherish the memories. I recently went to Iceland by myself for 2 weeks. Is traveling alone a little intense? Heck yes. There were times when I was in situations where it is totally on me to figure out what I was going to do and no one would save me if something went wrong. It builds character and you become stronger because you know how to survive and you take risks. So even if you don't like it, at least you will know you tried it.

I took a cruise with family last year and of course had to have a tour of the medical facility, lol.....but since it was in the hull of the boat (think 'basement'), I can assure you there were no glorious window views!

I looked one up. They want 3 years experience on the floor, preferably ED or ICU and "practical experience using ACLS." This one sure looks appealing once my chicks leave the nest!
