:balloons: here are some sites and study material I found specifically for the CRNE. I still can not believe the test takes MONTHS to grade!

http://www.cna-nurses.ca/CNA/nursing/rnexam/bulletins/default_e.aspx

this is from Manitoba, but the info is for all of Canada

http://www.crnm.mb.ca/downloads/crne_faq_web.pdf

it includes the link for the CNA LeaRN CRNE Readiness Test: www.can-aiic.ca

And as hard to find as it is, there is a Mosby's Canadian Comprehensive Review of Nursing book. by Dolores F. Saxton, Janice Henty, Penny Vernon

ISBN: 0-920513-45-X

I think the last one published was for the old exam - the new exam format that began June 2005.

All of those resources are great and I used them, but the most important one is the CRNE prepguide that comes with the CD. You need (and want) this to help you prepare for the types of questions you will get.... especially the short answer.

I took the exam on June 8th, and I survived it and I feel pretty confident I passed... but like you said it will be months before I know for sure. Geez... you'd think they would have advanced the technology as well and not just the exam. Anyway, best of luck in studying.

I am not even to the point of studying for the CRNE - I am going to school in the US and have to face the NCLEX in Jan. The Canadian nursing board said that I can not apply for the CRNE until I pass the NCLEX (this is in Alberta- I believe this information is not correct but they are looking at changing legislation for the province shortly). After they "clear me" to take the CRNE - again with the months - I will be taking the CRNE Aug 2006!

Did you test with the new format?

Good luck with the results (in most states it takes about 24-48 hrs to find out if you pass!) I assume you can practice as a GN until you get your results?

Hi there, did you take the exam with the short answer questions incorporated?

I'm hopeing to take the test later this year and I have to say that I'm finding it increasing hard to figure out which is the best way to prepare for the exam!

Glad to hear that you feel confident about your exam. How did you prepare for the exam. I presently nursing in the UK but really want to work in Vancouver (BC). Anyway, any tips would be appreciated. Good luck with your results and your nursing career.

Regards, Jamieson.

This thread is SIX years old. Much has changed with the CRNE and there are literally dozens of more recent threads on the topic.

A gentle reminder cazza64 that posting all in capital letters is the internet equivalent of shouting.
