Hi guys!
To all of you who took the CRNE last February 5, 2014, do you have any idea how many weeks should we wait for the results?
what could be the passing score? The exam was not an ordinary exam. I mean most of the cases are new (not the common dx of arf, crf, copd,mi etc). Also, the situations are not like for new Rn graduate.. I think you should have experience working in a hospital setting or special units because some of the questions are more of the routines in a hospital..not for nursing knowledge, anyways, good luck to all of us! In God, we trust!
Hello Everyone! I wrote my exam in Calgary, Alberta.
On March 17, 2014- Monday morning, received a 9x12 inch brown envelope in the mailbox. This is a relatively large envelope contrary to other passers who received a regular white letter size envelope. It was light though and stamped from Canada Post.
I assumed I failed and started crying and had palpitations. I opened the envelope and took deep breaths as I peeked inside and voila! It was a small slip stapled to a letter that was the official exam result report that said: Result: PASS!!! I started crying again, but this time, with joy and relief!
The envelope came with the small report slip which displays the result, a letter from the Provincial board of nursing, a F.A.Q. sheet, and the best of all, a certificate from the CNA with my name on it that I can't wait to frame!
All my friends who I went to school with in the Bridge to Canadian nursing had their results same day as me, both Edmonton and Calgary takers. All passed!!! I have yet to hear from 3 other friends but so happy to share the glory with most. In total, it took 5 weeks and 5 days to get our results.
Congratulations to everyone who made it! It was a difficult exam, no doubt! I bet I passed by a hairline! To those who have yet to make it, don't give up on your dreams! Keep pushing yourself and no hard work would go unrewarded. People I know who took the time to practice NCLEX questions said it was very helpful, namely Saunders in addition to the Canadian prep guides.
Cheers everyone!
I'm sorry about the bad news but don't give up. Take time for yourself and review again. I see that you're and IEN and already have years of experience under your belt. You already have the nursing skills down so that is a major advantage for you. Having relatives who are IEN, I find that they have difficulty with the Canadian Nursing Practice Standards and Guidelines. Being a Canadian Nursing School graduate, I can attest that these comes up in every nursing examinations. I suggest you familiarize yourself with these and you will pass :) Don't waste time studying what you already know and study what you don't know. Try the CNO website and look under the Standards and Guidelines and RNAO for Best Practice Guidelines. Prayers always work too :)
