Not a single strategy work for everyone. I encourage you to read other threads to find out more about the experience of successful candidates as well as unsuccessful ones.

CRNE is a serious exam specially if you speak English as a second language. I received my education here, had good marks through four years of my education and had a 87% in my muck exam we had at the end of our fourth year. We were told that if we passed that exam, we would pass the CRNE. Needless to say that I failed my first attempt by one mark only because wasn't able to finish the whole test, and rushed into decisions. There is a big focus on community nursing( which I'm personally not agree with that focus) but it is what it is.

Read through the threads and find out what you need to improve. When I was preparing on my second attempt my focus was finishing the exam on time. And I did it. So be focus on your study and strategies you take. And let me know if you needed more help. You'll find a lot of people here willing to help.

Cheers

Just went home, and straight to my mailbox, I passed!!! took CRNE in BC, living in US...

Thank God, big relief!!!

Awesome news...wish the same for the rest...

Good luck to your carrier.

Is there anyone in Calgary who is still waiting for the results??? I've checked my mail yesterday so sure it would be there but still nothing. I am so narvous now, knowing that even peapole in US got theirs already.

I wrote my tips of preparing the exam, you can search it. Are you setting for June this time?

Best wishes

Hey Samra I feel for you......but best of luck for next time!! I got my results and unfortunately I didnt pass :-( this was my second time!! I dont know whats gonna happen now......what conditions will be put in place for me to take it for 3rd (final) time. I dont even know if i want to take it again its so discouraging. At the same time i think it should be given as shot otherwise its gonna be 4 years down the drain!!!

Does anybody know what conditions get put in place to retake CRNE for third time??

Do not quote me but when I was in Vancouver writing my second try, I met a girl who was writing her 4th and she told me that you just need to request.

My advise to you would be what I've done and got result. When I wrote mind last June and couldn't pass, I could have write it in Oct. 2010 but I simply realized there was not time to study with the workload I had. So scheduled my exam for Feb 2011, I gave myself a good 5 moths to study and that worked in my case. I kept doing exams and reviewing the area of my weakness such as time management. The rest was easy.

Give yourself plenty of time. If you are not able to study at least 2 hours a night for 2 months, I recommend to consider rescheduling. That's my experience. Also stay positive. Your attitude make whole difference when you right these kind of exams. And don't be shy asking for help.

Good luck.

Thanks al228, if i retake the exam again i will have to retake it in June as my registration expires in April and they will only extend for 6 months! But yes i agree to give more time to study and you are right that attitude makes a difference. I was positive till i received my mail y-day and found out i didn't not make it again!! There are many nurses out there who are already working but didn't make the exam that does not make then bad nurses!! Just we are not good at exams! One of my friends txt me this morning who is a great nurse working in chilliwack but unfortunately she did not pass either.

Do you know what conditions are put in place by CRNBC to retake the exam 3rd time??

I would suggest you to call the CRNBC to find out. I believe that you still able to work under your temp license but you need to notify your manager and the college of BC of Nursing.

Specializes in NICU.

larret. Avhi and lovelivelearn congratulations on passing the exam. You were always on my thoughts and prayers. Also congratulations to all those who have passed the exam l know it is such a relief. To those who need to retake it,do not lose hope and know that God is always on our side. And for those who are still waiting like me, you hang in there.

Can anyone tell me if they passed the exam even though they did not completely finish writing it?

Agree with Nurses matter. Contact CRNBC instead of relying of word of mouth. They are usually good at assisting their members/exam Candidates.

I don't think, however if there's specific conditions put for taking third attempts but as nurses matter said, you need to inform your manager if you work and fill in a form (sorry if forgot what it's called but it might be professional r responsibilities or goals) by you and your manager.

Still waiting here in alberta and none of my colleagues in calgary have received any news yet. Loos like it will be another weeknd of uncertainty. So happy for everyone that passed :)

I am in Calgary NE and I have just received my result and as rightly predicted it is a PASS. This is the exam I waited this long before receiving my result, and the outcome is unspeakably great.
