Hey guys. I'm currently in a NP program. I'm working fulltime and doing the program, so to say the least I'm very busy! I was talking to a friend who is a CRNA and he really ticked me off. He was saying "All NP students are people who tried to get into CRNA school and wasn't good enough". That kind of attitude is so infuriating. I have never wanted to be a CRNA, and have very good grades and GRE scores. Have you noticed this superior attitudes with other CRNA's? Wonder why? Is it because they are so highly paid??
My comment was NOT funny but the original one was? Consider yourselves fortunate you do not have a moderator on your forum as the CRNA forum does. I am sure they would not stand for this CRNA hating. I would like to say CRNAs do not think poorly of NPs... We actually do not think of them much at all. I wonder why there is no NP bashing in the CRNA forum?

Well that is a good point, why would there be bashing from either group? It doesn't make sense...We are all APNs. I actually mentioned this thread to some of the one's I work with, and they were surprised. soooo...enough said. We have totally different jobs. I hope that you don't really feel that NPs are all CRNA wanna be's, or that we are all basically stupid...No more than most of us think CRNAs have no personality. Let's face it, if every one was interested in the same thing, we would have a very overly saturated job market.

I don't get it... We have totally different jobs! They couldn't do ours, and we couldn't do theirs! I've done OR for about 14 years...never once had a problem...some have God complexes, but so so some PAs and NPs. But for the record, I have very good grades, and got into anesthesia school. I CHOSE NP! So can we all stop slinging mud?!
