Hello, just wondering if there is anyone out there who can share their interviewing experiences with me. Questions you were asked, what went well, what went bad, any advice at all I would greatly appreciate. I am interviewing in a few weeks at Eastern Carolina.
Thanks,
Spidey.
I'm sorry CVICU_RN, you make a valid point. I apologize. I was not too clear on the last statement.
When I said profession, I did not mean to limit this terminology to just the subspecialty nursing anesthesia. I meant the whole Nursing Profession.
"So in what ways could you contribute to the future of the nursing profession?"
"What is your future potential, and how will you give back to the nursing profession and the community?"
Why should you be trained as a master's level educated nurse? Why you and not someone else?
Look deep I'm sure you'll find that answer. Do some soul searching about your personal strengths, dreams, and your definition of your role as a nurse. If you need help please PM me. Believe me, this will give you an edge on the competition. I feel it's a small part of what got me in. I just got accepted to Virginia Commonwealth - Fall 2009!

At the risk of speaking for YupYup, the point is having a strong sales pitch and not so much answering a specific question. One of my interviewers flat out said "here's the point where you get to tell my why you are the best candidate"
I agree that you should not necessarily need to know what you will bring to the profession, but you should certainly know what you bring to their program and what makes you a strong candidate
