CRNA 2017 - Northshore vs. Rosalind Franklin

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello all, I'm currently applying to both RF and Northshore. I am not from the area and would like to gather additional information.

Does one school offer something the other school doesn't?

Please help!

I am applying now at RFU in hopes to begin 2018. How do I message you privately?

Hi there, I am interviewing with Northshore and would love to get some advice on the interview process!

Hi did you interview yet?

In case you haven't, they're pretty laid back seem to really just want to get to know you. There was an short essay prompt to type on the computer. Then you get some time talking to a current student in a group setting while you wait to interview with two faculty members.

One interview is more clinically focused and seeing how you deal with problems/challenges in the clinical setting. The other is more focused on your likelihood to thrive in the program? your support during school and coping mechanisms, studying habits, etc.

Not sure if it's still like that but good luck!

Can you elaborate more on your experiences with the clinical interview questions? I heard from current students that they don't ask clinical knowledge questions so that worries me as I have not prepared for that.

It wasn't specific clinical knowledge. She asked about my experience as a nurse, description of the unit I worked at and the patient population, and questions were more like behavioral interviewing for the clinical setting--Tell me about a time that demonstrated your problem solving skills in a situation that required your immediate attention. Good luck!

I was admitted to North Shore's program last Summer, so I'll be in the 2019 cohort. Message me if you have any questions!

Do you remember how long after your interview you received your email for acceptance?

It is, and it gets worse by the day! It would be nice to know if people have been accepted yet or if we are all still in limbo

I wonder if theyre doing rolling admissions? it seems that in the past, people have gotten their emails at different times.

I don’t think it’s technically rolling admissions. I do think they extend some acceptance letters before they interview everyone, probably to candidates they absolutely want. It seems like most people hear mid July to early August but some earlier than that. This year though the timeline could differ but who knows

Hi Marcopolo,

I have an online interview with the program in October and was wondering if you had any advice for the interview?! Thanks!
