2 credit nutrition course

Published

Hi, I plan on taking a nutrition course this fall but my university only offers 2 credit nutrition courses. For some of the absn program pre-reqs I noticed most of the schools wanted 3 credits/ 3 hours of nutrition. Do you think the number of credits matters? This nutrition course that I'm taking is a 300 level bio course and the professor states that it's meant for students who plan on going into the nursing field. If someone can answer my question it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

When in doubt speak with an academic advisor. Each school and each program is different. Why risk wasting the time or money? Is the nutrition class at the same school as the nursing program you're looking into? Some classes will transfer with no problem, but others will not. A friend of mine transferred to my school and had to retake A&P because at her old school each section was 3 credits and at the one she transferred to each section was worth 5 credits.

I would absolutely check with your preferred nursing school before taking the class.

I would definitely check with the individual school..

I took one 1 credit nutrition course (NFS 167 at my school) then later took NFS 362 which was a 3 hour course. It seems confusing but again i'd make sure before registering.
