Hey everyone :) Just wanted to see what nurses out there know about any creative nursing jobs. I definitely have a big creative side but am looking for a way to incorporate that into my nursing career, but don't know how. I love working with people in nursing and the medical aspects of it, but sometimes I feel like something is lacking..Thank you!

All nursing jobs have the potential to be creative, for creativity is the use of the imagination and original ideas in the production of an artistic work.

Although there can be a systematic approach to creativity, it must come with time and experience.
Our nursing jobs are somewhat linear, in that we go from point A, a situation, and go to point B, the outcome. As nurses, we must know just about every variable of the the journey from point A to point B before we can become creative.
Once we know the variables of the linear from point A to point B it is then we can become creative, or in other words, organic.
For example let's take the creative concept of humor. Humor is a great thing to use in this field, for it is, among other things, an excellent reliever of stress. However, we must learn where and when humor is appropriate. Otherwise, we will be seen as idiots to those who have trusted us in their care.
My post to you, nina, is general and merely the tip of the iceberg in pursuing a means of instilling creativity in the nursing process.

I work in child psych and run a group of my choosing every day. I could do art group if I wanted.
