CPR business, setting up online testing

Published

Howdy!

This is my first time here. I have been reading posts and gathering ideas and info. and thought I'd join your "Family" (if you'll have me).

I teach CPR/ First Aid on the side and want to be able to offer online testing then have them come to me for hands on skills testing.

Does anyone know how to set up online testing? I know there are tons of sites that do it but want to set up my own. Any info. is appreciated!

Thanks!:pumpiron:

Welcome!

AHA already does that... you can take an online course and then go to an approved provider for the skills check-off. Everywhere I've worked requires AHA for BLS, so I'm not sure how you can get around that, unless you're simply teaching lay people.

Thank you, and that is who I am affiliated with is AHA. I just want to be able to direct people to a web site where they can do online testing then have it alert me when they have done so (in my area) so I can contact them to set up skills testing.

Does anyone know if a person is redirected to the AHA site or RedCross site when they do online testing through another web site?

Thanks!!

When I did the online testing, it was required to be completed on the AHA site because when it's done you print off the certificate to take to the skills check-off as proof you've completed the written part. I'm not sure how you could do this on your own and still manage to meet their criteria or be able to certify your students in AHA BLS.

Perhaps you should contact a lawyer before you get too much into this... Something tells me you could end up in hot water if you try to circumvent their protocols (if you intend on certifying via one of these organizations).

Two options...

1. Direct them to www.onlinetrainingplace.com or www.onlineaha.org (they end up at the same place). From that site, they can purchase the online module themselves, complete it, & print the certificate. Then they can contact you to set up the skills verification & get the card.

2. You buy the Heartcode BLS Anytime licenses from an AHA distributor (Laerdal, World Point, or Channing-Bete). Then customers would pay you for the license and skills check. You'd provide them with the website & "key" to complete the module.

Also..."Anytime" self-directed modules are available for Healthcare Provider and Heartsaver AED, so you can offer this to licensed folks and laypersons.

Have fun!
