CPNRE June - July 2018

I just submitted my application to write my Registration exam this September 2018. I'm wondering if any of you guys could help me with some few questions and a favor. In my school, we had this comprehensive exam at the end of our last semester and I thought that was really hard however, I ended up passing that exam, I studied the CPRNE prep guide 4th and 5th edition (Which did not help with this exam), and Saunders nclex PN. I am now at the end of my consolidation/preceptorship this last week of July 2018, I haven't started studying because I have been so exhausted and pretty much having an anxiety attack just thinking about this exam.

I'm just wondering how long people studied for their CPRNE before their scheduled exam?. (I'm just a bit procrastinating towards when should I start)

I'm pretty worried that it's going to be hard. I did very well throughout the program but I really am scared about this CPRNE.

Is there anyone that could send me any good resources to study? Like any old editions of CPRNE prep guides?

Do you guys recommend getting Uworld?

Where did you guys focused on studying?

Please do let me know I just don't have any one to share/talk about this and overall I feel very anxious.

I hope that everyone who recently wrote their exam pass.

I found the exam extremely similar to the prep guides. If you send me your email I can send you all 5 editions. I find getting uworld a bit pointless since only 15% of the exam or so was knowledge based (side effects of drugs, symptoms of certain diseases)... it really wasn't that hard at all. A lot of "what would you do" theory type questions and communication things (how to respond to a patient who doesn't want to live anymore). Honestly walking out of there I don't feel like I could have done much better if I studied more. I think you'll be okay if you just study the prep guides and understand the questions (read the rationales) and know how to answer those type of questions. If you want a bit more you can also buy the predictor test (some questions were the exact same on the cpnre). IT was helpful, and tells you how likely you are to pass the CPNRE.

Test is on general knowledge based ques and what will be your immediate actions focus on that. Use kaplan book for stratagies ..it will guide you how to find right ans.

Hi LisaStone,

Thank you for getting back at me. I forgot to mention that yes I also did ASI predictor's test twice for the preparation of my comprehensive exam at my school (which was also not helpful because the comprehensive exam in school was a lot harder). The first time I did it I got a 70-80% of probability of passing, the second time I did it which was in a class room with my peers that our professor had arranged. Unfortunately I was seated in front of the first row of the computers by the exit door and my anxiety spiked up and I was definitely distracted by people going in and out and people talking outside of that computer room, I could not concentrate. So, my result from that was actually bad, I got 65-75% probability of passing. I was very very dissappointed with that result.

i took my exam last june 14 at it was tricky. i would suggest that you get to understand the test taking strategies. the questions are generally entry level . i am hoping i passed.
