Without talking about specific material from the exam of course, discuss how you found the exam? Difficulty level? Did the CPNRE prep manual/predictor test compare to the exam itself?
Also, feel free to post results here, when they arrive of course!
This is also the first writing of the "new" CPNRE. Prior to yesterdays writing, the exam was 8 hours long, divided into 2 booklets, rather than 4 hours and 1 booklet. As far as the content and difficulty level of this exam compared to those prior, I'm not sure if that changed as well.
I personally found the exam to be a bit more difficult than the practice exam in the CPNRE prep guide, as well as the online predictor test. I scored %95-%100 on the predictor tests, which means it concluded I have a 95-100 % chance of passing the CPNRE. I found the answers in the prep guide and the predictor test to be fairly obvious, where as on the actual CPNRE, I read a lot of questions, thought I knew the answer before looking at the available choices, but once seeing the options I wasn't so sure anymore.
Through my PN course I averaged a mixture of high 70s and low 80s during finals but I must say, I have no idea how I did on this exam. It's really one of those exams where I either did extremely well, or failed miserably. At least that's how it feels!
I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope we all get that PASS letter in the mail!
Keep us posted & share your thoughts here! :)
Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and your news. To those of you who will be trying again, my heart goes out to you...I too am nervous and working on a temporary license. I'm in Ontario so I'm anxiously waiting. This is my first time around, so I have been thinking that my boss might find out before me if I failed...I have these visions of being called into her office in the middle of a shift and being walked out in shame. Fortunately, I called the CNO today and they confirmed that this is not the case...we get a letter first before our employers do. Also, spygurl is correct - our names do stay up on the CNO Find a Nurse website for awhile. Someone posted in another blog that if your name is still on Find a Nurse, you passed...I wanted so much to believe this - but the CNO confirms that there is no way to know except the letter.
Congrats to those of you in other provinces who have received happy news already! I'm going crazy trying to rehash and remember questions in my head....are there any others out there who passed on the 2nd try? I studied so hard for this thing, one month straight, and did the prep guide, the predictor tests, a prep course, and did well in all - just wondering what anyone did differently the 2nd time around?? Has anyone taken those $1000 2-week prep courses at the private colleges in Toronto? Just trying to come up with a plan so I can deal with the failure if it comes.
Thanks again to all of you! And if anyone can post the pass mark, much appreciated!

Hi girl. I know how you feel- I have been there and believe me this is pretty devastating. since you only have 3 chances to write. I wrote in January too and not feeling too confident about it at all. Was it your first attempt? Yes, the exam was very hard and not enough time to double check the answers. I really wanted to go back and check but didn't get a chance. Now, people are paying for this:(
