CPNE Question: I've heard folks describe the "grid" they draw on the back of the PCS form. I'm having a difficult time visualizing this. Is it something used for each PCS? Is the function to remind yourself of the Critical Elements? If so, is that where one would write down their pneumonic to assist in remembering what to do, like a simplified checklist? Anything helps and I'm a visual person so if I could see one or have it overly-described I think I would get it. Thanks in advance!
Yup. The original post was about a year ago before I even knew what a Grid was! Hehe. I made it. I passed the CPNE over 7 months ago and now am an RN. Soooooo... more power to ya. You will be an RN too!

Hello
I am taking the CPNE Nov 30. Have all the critical elements memorized and am attending Chancelors next week for 5 days of classes to prepare. I have reached a spot where I do not know what else to study but I must be missing something! Has anyone tested in Madison WI? What was it like? All info and advise welcome! Thx.

The first sentence in the study guide for each of the areas of care is "complies with established guidelines". This is so important. You need to know BEST PRACTICE for each of the areas of care. You need to refer to a really good skills book or a Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice and know that by heart just like you know the critical elements.
