I am a recent graduate of Excelsior schol of nursing, and have also successfully passed state boards. I found so many woderful people who helped me through this extremely difficult endeavor. I have a friend who is now preparing for the CPNE, and I have decided to do a mini workshop for him. As a way of giving back, I am considering asking others to join us. No charge. Just a way of giving back. No date set as yet. Tentatively, a Saturday in April. I live in Ohio. If interested, please reply.
at the workshop i went to, they neither aspirated nor applied pressure during the demonstration. not to go off on a tangent, but what i personally found significant at that station when i practiced were the distractors that they put on the table - i drew up humalog when the order was for novolog. they were both in the same concentrations but my mind was racing and i quickly scanned the name and missed it. if that experience saves me from doing that at the CPNE, then the workshop was worth it.

Quick addendum -- the skills guide booklet that came with my EC skills bag says to NOT aspirate for heparin or insulin, and to NOT rub the site after administration for heparin and insulin.
