CPNE Information

Published

i need some information here... rather than get all behind when the time comes i need to know some things that are required to be submitted with the cpne application.

am i correct when i say

  • immunizations
  • cpr card- does it matter where you get it or does it need to be red cross or aha- just found out mine is expired...lol yeah

  • picture- pass port photo

  • finger prints
  • background check
  • do you have to get a physical...

now also i am assuming that you need to wait until the last grade is posted before you can apply for the cpne. are you able to apply online or is this a snail mail thing?

yeah i went to the link and reviewed it when you posted it earlier in the thread. the other poster just confused me a bit. also some of those links on the ec cpne website i cannot follow because i am not cpne eligible. i should be able to get things going for my cpne on the around the middle of the month (13th or 14th).

there is a "health status report" form that a doctor has to sign that is part of your cpne application. on that form you can choose to waive the hep b vaccination.

if you go to http://www.excelsior.edu/cpneapplication you can see all the forms and documentation that you'll need for the application.

also, don't worry about printing out and scanning in the infection control documentation signature page -- you'll just verify that you've read it and agree to it in the online application. also, for the background check, i just submitted the first page (you can only submit one page for each item) and that was fine. cpr card -- just the front of it. i scanned front and back, but like i said, you can only attach one file per item.

sorry for the confusion. i tried to help. i did have 2 physicals done. the first one was when i applied, then after i got the date, they sent me yet another health form and had 1 mo deadline on it...it might be something to do with the test site, i don't know for sure...just wanted you to know what happened in my case so you won't be :uhoh3: like i was when i got the form in the mail. when you'll be ready to apply, it will all make sense to you and it might be confusing right now, but it's really not.

lunah, when did you apply? did you get a date?

sorry again for the confusion.

oh don't worry about it. this whole process is confusing to me and it's just because i can only go so far with reading the information then i must ask for help here. since i am not eligible to apply yet all the ec information resources are closed to me. i know you were trying to help and i appreciate it.

dang...i used to complain while i was waiting for them to call...i should have enjoyed it! now i'm all stressed! am in the process of moving, starting a new job, learning how to go to the grocery strore by myself...trying to study! i should have pushed it till march...oh, i forgot to mention, just got hit by the re-enrollment fee!

do you guys know how much is the graduation going to cost? i saw $130 on their website, would that cover it all or____? if i want to continue with my bsn right away, do i still have to pay for everything all over again?

thanks...

If the CPNE is the only thing you're waiting on and you have to pay the annual student services fee, you can ask that the fee be applied to your graduation fee when you're successful at the CPNE (because if you'd been able to do the CPNE without the wait, you wouldn't have had to pay the fee).

The graduation fee is $495, according to the latest "How Much Will Your ASN Cost" document from EC's website. When you pass the CPNE, they can apply the annual $440 to that, and it should only cost you $55 bucks or so to graduate. (That $495 is the price through June 30, 2008.)

Oh, and one more thing I wanted to add ... I believe I read on the EC website that if you start the RN to BSN in less than a year after finishing the ADN, the enrollment fee for the BSN is half-price. Not sure if I'm right, but I'm pretty sure I am. :)

i think you're right...i think i remember reading that, too. of course, with my luck, things are probably going to change! :trout:
