Well that's your opinion. The CE's that are there to check you, they are not Excelsior grads themselves. What makes you think they are any different?
The CPNE is just a structured exam executed based on the manual that excelsior gave. There is nothing special in it. It is just basic nursing.
If you feel the need for an emotional blanket for previous passers then so be it. I have the EPN for that.
I dont need to convince you, but neither are the people who passed after attending her workshop. So what gives?
have you taken the cpne?..... why would you take learn the cpne process from someone who has never taken the exam? the ce's may or may not be ec grads but who cares because they are not there to teach you they are there to evaluate your performance. it is basic nursing but you just cannot walk in and take this exam it takes months of preparation. by taking a workshop from a inexperienced instructor...it is like relying on second hand information in order to pass this test..

This is like telling a doctor that he needs to have cancer before he could treat one.

Whats your point here? How can Sherry Taylor not evaluate you? Have you seen the appendix K of your study guide? Thats what the CE's are holding during the CPNE. Any bonafide nurse educator can evaluate you with that and can help you develop a plan to better execute your skills in the exam.
Have you taken the CPNE?
Yup. In fact I passed. Queens NY test site.
By taking a workshop from a inexperienced instructor...It is like relying on second hand information in order to pass this test..
Define inexperience? All of the CE in my CPNE were not excelsior grads, so none of them took the CPNE. Just because they are part of the faculty does not give them the "experience credibility" to teach "nursing". In fact, the nursing part of the exam is universal. All of the peculiar things are in the study guide. So technically any nurse educator can teach you.
As I said in the previous post, if it helps you boost your confidence to take a workshop from an excelsior grad, go for it. But you are NOT guaranteed to pass, just because of that.
To conclude, attending Sherry Taylor's workshop is like attending everybody elses. In fact all data from any workshop is second hand. Primary data by definition is from the one who directly experiences the test. This is an afterthought perspective after I took the exam, of course it was totally different before I took it.
Anyway have you also taken the CPNE?
I'm not here to attack anyone's abilities.
My experience alone is what my advice will be.
I took East Coast Tina's workshop 1 month before my CPNE.
I passed my CPNE with out any re-do.
Do your research and pick what looks to suit you the best.
Check out the EPN on the Excelsior site also. Amazing source of information that not too many people utilize.
Best of luck and post any questions here also.
