  1. This is like telling a doctor that he needs to have cancer before he could treat one. Whats your point here? How can Sherry Taylor not evaluate you? Have you seen the appendix K of your study guide? Thats what the CE's are holding during the CPNE. Any bonafide nurse educator can evaluate you with that and can help you develop a plan to better execute your skills in the exam. Yup. In fact I passed. Queens NY test site. Define inexperience? All of the CE in my CPNE were not excelsior grads, so none of them took the CPNE. Just because they are part of the faculty does not give them the "experience credibility" to teach "nursing". In fact, the nursing part of the exam is universal. All of the peculiar things are in the study guide. So technically any nurse educator can teach you. As I said in the previous post, if it helps you boost your confidence to take a workshop from an excelsior grad, go for it. But you are NOT guaranteed to pass, just because of that. To conclude, attending Sherry Taylor's workshop is like attending everybody elses. In fact all data from any workshop is second hand. Primary data by definition is from the one who directly experiences the test. This is an afterthought perspective after I took the exam, of course it was totally different before I took it. Anyway have you also taken the CPNE?
  2. Well that's your opinion. The CE's that are there to check you, they are not Excelsior grads themselves. What makes you think they are any different? The CPNE is just a structured exam executed based on the manual that excelsior gave. There is nothing special in it. It is just basic nursing. If you feel the need for an emotional blanket for previous passers then so be it. I have the EPN for that. I dont need to convince you, but neither are the people who passed after attending her workshop. So what gives?
  3. Attend a workshop! I can recommend Shery Taylor in Atlanta.
  4. congrats! nice post...can we make it a sticky?
  5. EB3 priority now jumped from Aug 2003 to 01 June 2005. Still no Schedule A.
  6. Hi Kalayaan! Are you a CRNA/SRNA?
  7. Sorry for not using English, I apologize to the mods. What I just said above is what if I had neuro ICU instead of CVICU/MSICU which majority of programs prefer? Would that be a disadvantage.
  8. Ei xigris its me again. Do programs discriminate what ICU experience you have? Pano kung Nuero ICU and trip ko. Ok lang yun? Usually marami namang co-morbids ang nasa neuro ICU. And strictly speaking, how many years ang ICU pre req? Thanks very much...
  9. Hi any MD-RN who is in CRNA school or already a CRNA?
  10. Wow...impressive experience...Still have to finish my BSN. But I intend to do 1 year of ICU/CVICU exp then apply broadly (no geopraphical bounderies), CCRN cert to. Will do the GRE prior to applying to schools. Hope to be in the US in december.. Thanks for the reply...Will email you from time to time kabayan! Advance congratulations on your graduation and goodluck in your AANA cert exams.
  11. Ei xigris! Wow! Good for you! Happy to know you'll be graduating soon! Wher'd you do your BSN? How many years of ICU experience did you have. Did you have to do other pre-requisites before CRNA school? Sat the CCRN? How many schools did you apply? I noticed you're from texas. UT houston has a program and i know 2 pinay graduates there...well i dont exactly know them but they're the one I emailed. Been to the AANA website numerous times....read all about the MDA vs. CRNA vs AA potitical threads in the net. Got me excited to be CRNA. Although am extremely apolitical, the profession attracted me. I hope you wont get tired answering my questions... Thanks very much in advance...
  12. Are you, or anyone know a filipino CRNA? I just want to hear from him/her how they became one. Did the basic research on the pathway to nurse anesthesia but can anyone make a personal account sorta like a mini biography... Really interested to become one as in gung-ho CRNA to be.... Please.....anyone... Thanks.. P.S. I emailed 2 filipino CRNA's working in texas already, they came from davao. But no replies yet.
